Honestly, I was the most excited for Cap. But that disappointed me a bit as well. This is for sure the best comic movie this year.

Hugh Jackman was the only one who I thought was well cast.

Famke looked too old, Cyclops was useless and Halle didn't have anything to work with. Anna Paquin as Rogue was a travesty (not her fault, the story ruined her character imo).

How was Famke too old!?

Jean Grey is either an M.D. or Ph.D. in the storyline. Unless you are Doogie Howser, you get your M.D. and are out residency in your early thirties, assuming no breaks or delays. You might get a Ph.D. a few years earlier if you blaze through your research.

Mid-thirties was completely age appropriate for the adult team members and frankly it is really sad to see an opinion like yours coming from a female collector. Attitudes like yours are why Hollywood does ____ like casting a twenty year old to play over forty Lois Lane in Superman Returns.

Anyway I thought the X-Men films have all been very well cast. There is no character except Emma Frost that I would not buy.

I thought Famke was fine, as well (by both meanings of the term!). So what if she was a bit older than Cyke? Relative age stuff got thrown out the window when they decided Iceman should be a teenager while Cyke and Jean were teachers anyway.

I'm super excited for Amy Adams to play Lois in the new film, and she's not a twenty something year old. Also super excited to see Marion in TDKR. Both older ladies who I think will be awesome.

She does looks a bit too old for Cyclops and Wolverine IMO as well. I think it has to do mainly with the crows feet on her eyes.

Exactly. Famke was nine years older then Marsden. Just doesn't fit.

I just found it refreshing that a woman closer to middle age than not landed a major role with my favourite comic book character. In terms of who Jean Grey is supposed to be, late thirties or even forty makes perfect sense with the character.

Maybe James Marsden (talk about hot thought) was too young, not Famke being 'too old'.

Oddly enough, her 'hotness' is not a selling point. I thought the character was done reasonably well in the film, although Moria MacTaggert was a lot prettier. I suppose I might buy her if HT released several other characters first, especially Mystique, and they put her in one of her less revealing outfits.

Ahhhh! Now that is a good way to prove a point.

I don't agree i think HT needs to show us something EPIC!!!!!!

My dream Magneto would include:

Two head sculpts (one for helmet)
Metal Helmet
Flightsuit
Casual (Nazi-hunter) clothes & coin
4 different sized missiles/artillery shells
4 different sized acrylic stands for the missiles to attach to.

Magneto could have a small dio of him stopping the flying missiles, turning them around and so on.

It's not hate, it's a fact. She is older then Marsden. I just didn't buy them being together the way their counter parts were in the comics.

And the reason she got the role was because she played a mutant in Star Trek with Patrick.

A: Emma Frost is supposed to be hot. January Jones is not. Not only was she horribly miscast (although the trend was in the books to make Emma less voluptuous but still Jones misses that mark) but her acting was amazingly wooden especially for the lines supposed to be thrown from her mouth. I wouldn't buy a January figure even if was bargain priced.

B: Famke was wrong for the X-Men. She was too old in comparison to the team but considering that they were going to make Jean Grey an actual doctor (from what I understand, a move to replace McCoy as the brains of the team and leave spots open for the additions of Rogue and Wolverine without making the team too jam-packed.) if you look at it from a story standpoint the producers were stupid for casting downwards in age for Cyke and Storm. Considering that they were still going for the Holocaust angle with Magneto and the age with Charles, Jean was closer to appropriate age in line with the rest of the story. Cyclops and Storm should have been closer to her age, with Cyclops actually older than Jean if they wanted to keep it in line with the comics/or the story as it was unfolding. She did at least play the part better than her other Marvel miscast Jessica Alba did for Sue Storm.

C: I have a feeling that with the time they are taking on this that we might get something a bit more complex. Magneto is probably a lock as is Charles but I'm wondering with with those two it'd be a simple suit and sculpt kind of deal. So I'm wondering if we'll see Charles paired with Mystique (the more complex) and Magneto paired with someone else for a total of four figures. HT isn't known for their depth but considering the figures of Mystique, Beast, Azazel all provide challenges for them to do I would think it'd be hard to believe that they wouldn't tackle at least a couple.

Just my two pennies.

The only thing I don't agree with is Jones not being hot. I'd shag her with YOUR love wand.
