That dude thinks he's from the League of Language and Alphabet Shadows :lol

Are you from the League of Let's Keep the Lowest Possible Standards?
Ah, ignorance seems to be bliss indeed!

But I'm done with this, you guys keep misspelling to your heart's content, I'll go back to talking about nice figures! :wave

Whenever Original Trilogy footage is shown, I still get goose bumps. :rock

Whenever Prequel Trilogy footage is shown, I :yuck

raw

And it also made Yoda seem pathetic. I mean - you knew from Empire that he went into self-imposed exile. But in ROTS - he just seems to give up just like that. Almost like he washed his hands of everything. "Oh well - I tried. I'm going on vacation."

That's what the audience was booing. Especially the crowd I saw it with - which were all game developers and artists. All SW fans and even they thought it was shoddy.

The audience I was with burst into laughter when Padma "gave up the will to live" WTF?!

And when Vader did his big NNNNOOOOOOO

That Padme crap was a joke. Why in the hell would a woman who is having twins give up wanting to live... Anakin wasn't that special. :)

Although I think ROTS is the best of the PT, it has THE worst dialog and scenes in movie history.

Anakin and Padme on the balcony- NO ONE had the balls to tell george "This is the worst directed scene in film history" And I say directed because Portman has consistantly been a good actress and despite what people think, Christiansen has gotten good reviews in other films.

The dialog between Anakin and Obi=wan in their duel. "from my point of view the jedi are evil." You've dceided to ally yourself to a man who has been manipulating the government for the last 15 years, caused the deaths of millions of innocent beings in the universe and the Jedi are evil for wanting him removed from power? I never felt love was enough of a catalyst to turn Anakin. If Palaptine had framed the jedi in the attempt on Padme's life in Episode 2 or made it appear Obi-wan had tried to harm her in some way then that would have been a much more powerfull push.

Oh, and Dr. Ball said it best on Robot Chicken concerning Padme's will to live.

I really hope some of the footage they're using in the blu-ray trailers isn't what will actually be in the set. For instance, the lightsaber effects from Luke vs Vader in TESB. They really need to be updated. It appeared that they fixed the shot of the sabers crossing in front of the Emperor, but that was about the only new or updated thing I noticed.

OH man! The NOOOOOOO was too much. The audience I saw it with burst out laughing too. It's hard to imagine that no one at ILM (or GL) didn't see how silly that scene looked? And it happens at the worst moment - the moment we've all been waiting for for decades.

Padme lost the will to live because GL told her to. Because GL was lazy the day he wrote that part of the script. Padme just dies. Yoda just goes into exile. C-3PO just gets his memory erased. Because GL says so. :rotfl:rotfl

This happens in movies all the time. They get edited (directors editing writers work) so much that scenes don't even make sense.

In ROTS, I think George Lucas' "Ghost Writer" probably wrote the Obi Wan and Anakin showdown on Mustafar with Anakin doing much more harm to Padme in a force push or something to the point that the medical droids can't save her, because she's already dying or dead. That would of been all the more tragic that Anakin physically killed the one person he turned to the Dark Side to save. But George Lucas wanted something softer I think. The Prequels get worse with age.

I flinch that she dies of a broken heart. Not near as much as the Phantom Menace line where Qui Gonn asks Anakin's mom who the Father was and she replies, "there was no father" like Jesus or something. I think if she had said, "he was a stranger from off planet who didn't stay long after we fell in love" would of given so much more mystery and got you thinking was his father a Sith or a Jedi? :panic:

I like your last point about the father - nice work; that would have been intriguing.

A colleague of mine made 3PO & R2 for Ep 2 & 3 and I went to the cast and crew screening of Ep3 with him and he was sooo pissed at the end of the screening. It turned out George had gone soft on the decision to have Anakin kill Padme in post and changed it with some lame dialogue.

The shooting script (and how it was filmed) had Anakin's Sith choke being the reason she died.

Saying all that, the worst thing for me now in retrospect, is Anakin's turn to the dark side; poorly, poorly done and reasoned.

Does she not just die in childbirth?
Unfortunately it happens all the time in the real world?

She had a bad fall thanks to Anakin which brought on the early delivery of the twins and her body couldn't handle it. Giving birth to twins is very dangerous at any time. As the mothers body goes through incredible duress.

Always pretty clear to me?
:dunno

Hovering medical droid says - "She lost the will to live."

Then the Jedi are like - "lolwut?"

Yeah, but as part of the whole premature delivery thing?

What I'm saying is she didn't just have an argument with her husband and go thats it "I'm gonna die now".
She was heavily pregnant with twins. She just got force choked and flung across the floor by the ____er, Then went into what
could have been hours and hours of premature delivery. If that happened in real life (apart from the force bit) there would be every chance that she wouldn't survive, especially if she didn't want to live after what had happened.

And man, pregnant women are emotional. Try living with one for 9 months and you will know what I mean!
