With these new figures coming out, retail is about $210-230 now.

Been having the same thoughts running by me these past few days.

HT is no doubt the market leader in 1/6 scale now. And I think its safe to say that they dont have any competitors now. But with their new business strategy of remaking and improving the same product over and over again in such a short time span, they are competing and cannibalizing their own product.

Im not gonna drop some serious coins and collect some figure, only to have it becoming obsolete 3 months later.

Yeah, retail is getting really expensive. I wonder if this increase in price has encouraged people to buy the larger stuff that used to be more expensive than the 1/6 figures, such as the SS Comiquette line.

I totally agree man. Its really getting out of hand. I give hot toys another 2 years, till the fans just had enough, and the company will collapse, unless they change their strategy of producing figures.

It's a hassle, but you can just sell it. You will more than likely get more than you paid for it anyways at that point.

Way better than the electronics market where you can barely sell the previous version for a fraction of the new one.

I know and that brings me to the other annoying point. Having to sell off the now obsolete figure to buy the newer one. Not a big deal but i'd just love to keep everything I buy. Its been a steady cycle (selling) since I started collecting in 2006.

This is why I collect both. You won't see a PF being re-released imo. I love the bigger items to begin with.

If I may add to one more annoying point, is that the 1st figure tend to go up in prices (double or triple original retail price) before the remake version is out.

So not only you'll end up selling lower, but you'll also end up regretting on the profit you might have pocketed, if you sold the figure 1 week before the announcement of the newer one

Sales might go down but I think Hot Toys will adjust production based on demand. Right now they're really testing the waters to see where that annual upper cap is..

when they adjust production, it'll somehow affect their quality too.

These are all hand painted. At least the headsculpts are. And these workers need to be trained and it takes time. They cant just hire and fire people in a snap of a finger.

Yep. Either the body's too over sized or the BW head is under-sized. I vote head too small. It's a pattern with Hot Toys. Hope the BW head doesn't look too small on my Takara.

How many HT figures do you own outside of Batman?

Latest Sideshow newsletter just came out a few minutes ago. Sad to say there was no mention of this figure going up for preorder or anything.

And yes, I know they said August at the earliest. But still, you'd think they'd at least address it.

That predator looks really good for some reason. Has a very relaxed standing pose that could not be achieved with the Guardian. Oh and Bats biceps are too big. Thanks for ruining this figure for me now guys. Geez. JK

I'm not going to rebuy or sell this figure after getting it. I'm done with the selling and rebuying thing. I'm not picky and I'm not going to pick apart the flaws with this figure. It's a toy. A 12" toy.
