Collectors unite! Listen up HT! We want the 89 Batmobile priced at 300 flat! Or else you can go suck it!

:nana:

You are effing crazy to believe they would ask $300 when they are asking $500 for the Iron Man Gantry so it's not unreasonable to expect it will be the rumored $950. I only hope it's closer to $600-$700 though.

That's made out of literally about $5 worth of plastic if that, which is injection molded and snap together and requires no paint. I could make that. I could not make the batmobile.

I think you may have missed my point.

Scale does not equate to price.
Craftsmanship and production value equates to price.

Yes, plus those companies manufacture about 1 million of those things, creating an economy of scale that allows them to be sold for relatively low prices (though having a small child, I can tell you they ain't as low as I would like them to be).

And this definitely has craftsmanship and we know the production quality will be high.

At the end of the day this would have been a fun and kind of ridiculous thing to own. But given the space it will take up I could somewhat justify a $600ish pricetag... but $950 is just too much for me to enjoy owning something like that. I'm sure I could swing it financially... but I would probably always be annoyed I dropped that much on a massive hunk of plastic :lol

I really can't see regular collector's spending $950 for this. It's great but even in this expensive hobby that is too much.

Is there any way anyone in SDCC here can go ask one of them reps? This will solve the pricing misery once and for all.

Let's not forget that HT supposedly lost a lot of money on the Tumbler. Was it because they priced it too low? I believe that rumor sprung up even before there were a lot of returns for damaged items and those items were even later sold off.

Maybe HT learned from their past mistake and are boosting the price on this one. Unfortunately, 500-550 is all I can afford for something like this. If I can't have the batmobile, I won't be getting the batman and Joker figures as much as I want them.

I just saw Pitu's video showing off the Batmobile, and it looks amazing.

Having said that it's going to have to be a pass. Particularly at such a high price. I can justify spending money on some of HT's more expensive pieces.

And I think that's the problem, there's so much coming out that space and budget are a concern and I think the 89 batmobile basically destroys both.

I do look forward to seeing other people who do get it posting pictures :wink1:

So thats 1.Batmobile, 2.Avatar and 3. Iron Man "Suit up" dio that has everyone scratching their heads about pricing. Coincidence I think not. Time to start a revolution guys...

even with the Tumbler issues, i still think this will be $399, maybe $499 retail at the very most. They put on the Tron cycle with a figure and that was $299. which was the same as the BatPod with no figure. So i predict $399 for the Burton Batmobile.

$950...GTFO.

They can keep it. I don't care how good it looks.

don't forget #4: Iron Monger.

:slap

Yup, sorry:
1. Batmobile 2. Avatar 3. Iron Man "suit up" dio 4. Iron Monger.

All overpriced, well at least a lot more expensive than we have become used to. Tron Cycle was $299 right? How can they possibly justify these prices then?
:(

Yea all those are dam expensive, if this is over $499, I won't bother buy it, since there are many DC come from sideshow now...
