The robe looks great. I have been thinking about ordering one from Ralphs. I wish Mattel would have done the robe instead of the shirt.

Just bought my first Mattel Wwe figure, Randy Savage! I noticed stands on the legends figures that a lot of you have displayed but mine didn't come with one. Did they stop stands at series 5? Any buying suggestions from anyone?

Thank you BCM! I picked up a Entrance Great Piper on clearance at a local Target for 9.99. I had assumed that a figure that retails for 19.99 would have included deluxe articulation but it turns out that they're just standard. Oh well... Looking forward to Andre!!

That robe looks excellent, BCM, I was thinking of picking one up, but was put off by the price tag. Might still have to do it.

Rich, FYI, I also saw some of those figures on sale at Big Lots.

Toys R Us has them for 12.99, which is where I got Savage. I did see Ricky Steamboat at a K-Mart but he was priced at 15.99, which is just too much. I'll check Big Lots tonight, Sam! :rock

I don't want a ton of these, just a handful.

I think Savage is it for me. It is a slippery slope allowing myself any more. I saw those on clearance for $8 at Target and was tempted by Terry Funk, WCW Rick Rude and Jake the Snake, but passed.

I'd like to have Jake the Snake.... I sold all my Jakks Pacific figures with the exception of a Deluxe Classics Flair, so I really want to watch what I buy as well. Like you said, slippery slope.

The Defining Moments series replaced the Entrance Greats and they're all Elite style.

There has been an Elite Roddy Piper released in a 2-pack with Bob Orton Jr but the headsculpt is different and also has dodgy paint apps....however,

It should still be possible to pick that set up cheap at TRU so all you'd
have to do is swap the head, t-shirt & kilt from the Entrance Greats figure over to the Elite one and Voila! perfect mid 80's Hot Rod!

SDCC is almost upon us and with Bret "Hitman" Hart being one of Mattel's guests there's a good chance we'll see a proto of his first figure, maybe the Anvil as well.

My prediction for Legends series 7 is,

Andre The Giant
Shawn Michaels ( Rockers )
Marty Janetty ( Rockers )
1 other....another Savage perhaps?

Yeah, the Hot Rod and Cowboy Bob set as well as the Iron Shiek/Volkoff set are tempting.... So the Savage from the defining moments is an elite then? Still a bit too expensive and I do prefer the older stars on the tights look anyway but it's good to know should they ever go on sale.

DM Savage is an Elite and a very nice one. Due to the lack of retail release for Mattel's Legends in the UK it cost me the equivalent of $48....Ouch!

If you look on ebay it's possible to get some good bargains by getting figures loose & complete. Because of the prices UK import stores charge I've managed to save quite a bit that way.

Not much new in the way of Legends from SDCC yet but the following have been shown,

"Macho King" Randy Savage

Talk about out of leftfield. I never saw the Gobbledegooker coming but it's awesome! :lol

papa shango legends figure in elite series 12

voted for Bundy,Doink, don Don Murraco,JYD and Miss Elizabeth to be made in next year's lineup for mattcollector.com

Wish they had a different sculpt of Macho Man, that one's a bit off (especially the hair).

One has already been done. It has only been seen in a small image when the Defining Moments figure was unveiled last year but the hairline looks a lot more accurate and the expression was more "Savage".

teemu,
Don't get your hopes up for Elizabeth. Her family blame the wrestling industry for her developing the drug habit that killed her so there's little chance they'll agree to a figure.

Legends Papa Shango will be a cool addition, all those tattoos and the facepaint should look awesome with Mattel's attention to detail.
