Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

The price has really bummed me out, $289 is brutal for collectors... the more I look at the proto pics then I'll probably end up preordering this but still...yeesh :(

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

damn that's expensive,didn't expect that.

Figures like Sweeney Todd and Jack Sparrow with those amazingly detailed Chair and steering wheel made of real wood i can understand being a little more expensive, but what does this offer that is so expensive?

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

How big will this figure be ? Around 20 inches or so ?

Obviously you didn't see that it's taller than other figures? Couple that with the fact that this required research and development, whilst figures like Sweeney Todd and Jack Sparrow are simply photos of actors stickytaped to chicken eggs - no work necessary other than choosing a picture to print out.

Honestly, my friend, if you cannot swallow this price and accept that each figure costs $280 in parts and labor and research, perhaps you are better just collecting pebbles and strange rocks that you find on the ground?

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

My resolve to pass on this lasted less then twelve hours.....

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

It's a masterpiece worthy of any collection. Why is this thread so full of peeps that have no intention of buying, but only feel the need to endlessly whine and cause problems? :cuckoo: Buy it or don't! Where are the moderators? :monkey2

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

Avatards put you Money where your mouth is and give your money to Hot Toys and the almighty Cameron !!! A True Avatard fan would Definitely buy this figure.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

Well, yeah, exactly. :huh - the "avatards" bit. :peace

There hasn't been anything that needs mod attention :dunno People are just discussing the price, a new benchmark for an MMS figure. Of course its going to be talked about.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

The majority of the whining is from people that have already said they aren't buying it. Nope, lots in this thread are only here to attack people that like the figure and movie, that much is obvious. WAR PIGS!

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

Well today i finally saw pics of avatar jake sully, it was a very long long wait. And i have to say i'm dissapointed and will complain about it so please don't throw tomatoes at me and tell me that i'm a complete swine about complainig and stuff.

So the first thing i want to tell is the seam on the shoulder.
I think it's ridicolous and it had been mentioned already, but i think not a lot of hot toys figures recieved this type of seam.Seriously couldn't you hot toys hide it?For that price you are willing us to pay (and i will tell my opinion about price later) you could have hided it, but then again, could have-but couldn't.

The second thing i want to tell is the horrible just FRACKING horrible joints on the feat.In the name of Jesus Christ wtf have you been thinking of?This is the most ridicolous part on the figure, and for the price you are again willing us to pay, you could have done it the way sideshow did, replacable feat.Sideshow, not hot toys (the greatest 1/6th scale company)!I guess sideshow do really nead a noble prize for this. And with this seam on the feat i must say that i'd better go and buy hasbro rather than hot toys!It has the same seam but the price is waaaaaay lower.

The third thing i want to tell is the price, the 'horrifying" price, we all are complaining about.I think the price is out of hot toys's mind and everyone in the world knows that hot toys are very very greedy, and for that price they could have given us the angry headsculpt and a lot of accesories! Now i know that still people will throw tomatoes at me and will shout out loud-"Oh my God, stop complaining it's a very big sized figure and it has to cost a lot of money".But the only thing that aparts hot toys from hasbro is the sculpt (not the horrible feat)and the accessories. So why does it cost alot of money?I have a pretty good guess, because of the real feathers and a light-up base :pfft: Not to mention that if people are saying the size will be 45cm then the size is wrong and it has to be 50cm and neytiri between 45-50-cm.According to avatar wiki the size of the avatars are from 9 to 10 feet tall. The height of avatar jake sully is 3 metres tall.So here's a little mathematics lesson-300:6=50cm.Though people will not care about the size and will still buy it but, five cm is not a minor thing.
Appart from that the figure is nice but could have been a lot of better.

So in ether way i'm very dissapointed. They didn't show us pics of it for a hundred of years and for that time they could have done it better :thud: :cuckoo: .I'm complaining because i'm a biggest avatar fan and for that time i expected a Fricking cool figure.
Well it's time to write hot toys a lot of emails )

I hope i made myself clear :monkey3

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I can't say I read any 'attacks' yet but I guess it is a HT thread, its only a matter of time.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

This forum has a history of this sort of thing; you need a really thick skin around here. Who would have thought collectables would be so cutthroat. :cuckoo:

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I really dont understand all the negative feedback on the figure. I mean it looks about what I expected, I figured they would show some joints so that he could be articulated fairly well. The only real flaw is the price. :dunno

Well you're not wrong. And I think over the time I've been here I've seen it go from worse to worse. Buts its not all coming from the 'whiners'. People are too quick to label people whiners or their opposite the fanboy. I'm full of praise for some stuff and I have complaints about other stuff. Because people happen to see a bit more of the latter at a certain time they brand you and its bull$h!t quite frankly.

No, me neither, it freaking amazing. Good quality doesn't come cheap, and with all the work and associated production cost, it's amazing we are getting it for this price.

Who cares about the labels, it's the negativity that washes away all the good around here.

Exactly. You have to be blind not to notice that there is obviously alot more that goes into a figure like this. Theyre doing something completely new. I still think it could be a little cheaper, but a price increase is a must considering all the materials, research, brand new body, etc. Not a avatar fan myself, but im still pretty amazed by this figure
