One doubt: A friend of mine said he wanted to see the shield in a battle damaged version. So I told him that the shield was an amalgam of Vibranium and adamantium and therefore indestructible.
But he is insisting that Steve Rogers was often repainting his shield because the painting would be removable (not injected into the weapon).
Has anyone ever seen this in comics?

Ive never seen it.
But I remember playing the Marvel Ultimate Alliance game and saw that Caps modern shield had the paint worn off all around the circumference from wear.
Which to me said it took alot of years of wear and use to get to that point and simple bullets weren't going to muss the finish.
It looked good and made sense but the amount of paint wear seems over the top in the movie imo.
(Yeah, I get they had simpler methods back in WW2 but still...)
You'd think Tony Stark wouldve had a good solution given his painted armor, maybe he's still holding a grudge over the whole Civil War thing.

Yeah, not great. Not terrible, but it's not great.

Could you do this again in black. I always loved the way the concept art looked and was upset when I saw the grey on the actual costume

:exactly:

That said, the gray has grown on me. I really think it's fine as-is.

Oh, totally. I don't have a single complaint with the outfit or the way Chris Evans looks as Cap (or with this figure for that matter).... I haven't been this satisfied by the way a superhero's outfit looks for a movie, pre-release, since Iron Man. The only thing that sucks is I'll be camping the weekend of the 22nd. :(

I think what makes it so great is its just an AWESOME overall superhero outfit. Its not some guy in TIGHTS or some faux leather suit...

Its a badass costume any way you look at it, Captain fan or not.

Imagine Cap riding in Optimus Prime. 2 baddass ready to kick major ass. One geeks dream:pigfly: 2 movies I'm actually going to the movies to watch.

Cap says something about having to repaint his shield after using it as a sled to get past an obstacle in Captain America Annual #8.

I dunno whats all the fuss about, i'll stick to waiting for this...

Just kidding, although i like the original Cap film, its campy and very 80's, and it stars Ronny Cox, 'nuff said

Caps shield has been destroyed or damaged 4 times.

But, if you read entire text will see that only magnificent cosmic forces damaged the circular shield:
Thor, Thanos (with Infinity Gauntlet), Mocelule Man and Beyonder!

Also, is considered that the famous shield has been duplicated in steel, while Stark made experiments...:lecture

So, "virtually" indestructible is the right world.

Um, yeah were talking about a fictional shield. Fictional shield vs fictional forces/powers.

Right. And we'll be watching a fictional movie based on a fictional character.

The question lies in the fact that there are some people hoping to see a detail that mischaracterizes the Captain America's shield (only for the appeal of a visual effect).

To me is like a Wolverine battle damaged (with dry blood in his whole body, despite the healing factor).:wink1:
