I'm finding it hard to believe that I'm as excited for this figure, from a film I've yet to see, as Superman, which has been a life long grail! The detail is just stunning.

Anyway, I was away at a bachelor party that lasted Thursday through Sunday and ordered through SS on my phone... I wasn't aware that they made a phone friendly website! Doesn't seem like that long ago when I've had to make orders through their normal site on my phone, which was a bit of a pain.

I love the attention the figure is receiving with all the pics. I hope it equates to strong sales and more figures.

It would be nice if HT made a clear stand for the shield as if were thrown by Cap. Capture the shield "in flight" per say.

Just when im about to sell all my HT collection ..

This came out :slap:slap

That would be cool to have. :D

Excellent idea :clap

If they don't i'll just use fishing wire.....the shield will look like a hanging UFO bobbling back and forth :lol

What exactly is the deal with the diagonal leather strap over his shoulder?

It looks like it has two magazine or clip pouches on it, but what is the point from a design standpoint? Couldn't he just keep those two pouches on his belt with the other pouches?

Was it added to evoke a Sam Browne belt (kinda like Indy)?

It seems to serve no function other than to obscure the star on his chest.

Does he keep condoms in there? Chapstick? Hershey's bars and nylon stockings? A pack of Lucky Strikes?

:dunno

I'll remove mine.
I thought originally it had something to do with keeping his shield on his back but the picts of the back of the figure shows the strap to be extraneous.
Personally I think it was put there to obscure the star, Hollywood is stupid that way.

Cap is a bit of a neat freak.

He likes a nice shine on his shield at all times. :lecture

I wouldn't go that far, Spartan Rex. But it looks like it's there strictly for looks. I think it looks cool so I'll keep mine.

I'm more bothered by the grey trim that goes across to the shoulder pads. If the grey trim was just an extension of the harness/suspenders, then that would be fine. But the way they continue across to the shoulders I find more distracting to the look. Just a small criticism.

Dang FLOSI! You're brilliant! Nappy wipes! For when Cap's in the field and has that "less than feminine" feeling!

Yeah, it seems extraneous. Judging by the size of the strap pouches, they look like storage for extra 1911 Colt clips (the handgun).

The belt pouches are larger, so logic would suggest magazines for the machine gun . . .
Why he'd want a giant strap over his shoulder to carry just two jangling pouches that could fit on his belt is beyond my non-super-soldier-serumed brain. :dunno

The design of the pouches themselves seem closer to vietnam era first aid pouches or WW2 compass pouches but are still pretty thin comparatively.

Can anyone photoshop the grey parts in his chest to red? I always wondered how that would have looked if the designers went that route. It would give him more of the red, white, and blue

I think someone did that over in the Captain Americs movie thread a couple of months back...

Looked pretty crappy IMO.

One doubt: A friend of mine said he wanted to see the shield in a battle damaged version. So I told him that the shield was an amalgam of Vibranium and adamantium and therefore indestructible.
But he is insisting that Steve Rogers was often repainting his shield because the painting would be removable (not injected into the weapon).
Has anyone ever seen this in comics?

Not that I can remember. And I've been reading Cap since the mid 70's. :D
