Damn! :drool

Hello Sexy! McVader Will be Waiting For You:1-1:

My McVader shipped to me for free! :lol

That extra $600 in shipping fees is ridiculous! :(

There was this calculator link too: https://fedex.com/ratetools/RateToolsMain.do

Eastern European countries there are classed as M and shipping is still over $500. Wish Vlad Tepes to be here and take care of these greedy FedEx fellas. Still don't understand how is it possible only to ship by FedEx when BBTS is able to ship the huge Sideshow 1:1 Vader and Fett busts by USPS Express Mail. And they also had the MR AT-AT SE about a year and a half and shipping for that was a bit over $400 - a friend of mine was looking for it.

Anyway the $500 (or $670!) FedEx shipping + the customs charges (which include taxing this shipping as well , plus the value of the item) + 24% VAT = I could easily get another Vader helmet only from the money I throw away on shipping and taxes - before my country entered EU in 2007m we didn't have these huge taxing issues, I so "love" being in EU...

I do have the money to get the helmet, and even extra to cover these taxes (thus getting the second helmet LOL), because the book I'm co-author on was published, and money started to come, but it is not worth paying close to $2000 for this helmet. For any helmet, in that matter, excepting an original ILM one.

Thus, if the shipping cannot be solved in a reasonable way, because FedEx quote is simply outrageous and insulting, then I'll pass on the LG. I was not going for the idea that this is only 250 edition, never really cared about edition sizes or # numbers, but at least might get the LE from Toy Palace and still have enough money to get other cool replicas.

I was looking forward to this helmet until i did the postage calculator. Anyway i sent a email to EFX explaining the postage costs to Australia and ill see if i get an answer back before it goes up for preorder. I also have ordered the Tie fighter from Secretcompass and there postage for that was only $200. Im sure it isn’t a whole lot smaller than the helmet will be. I hope Secretcompass is correct.

So now that we know the prices...

If you had a choice between buying one of these two helmets or the SSC Vader bust, which would you choose?

Seriously? The Sideshow bust is just an expensive (but cool-looking) decoration. It's not an accurate prop replica. These eFX helmets are the real deal, even the "cleaned up" Limited Edition. You can't go wrong with either, and they'll both skyrocket in value in the future.

Yeah, seriously.

Last I checked, both of the pieces I'm considering (bust vs helmet) have been or will be productionalized by Asian vendors, and hence my hesitation.

While I doubt they will BOTH skyrocket in value, I do see the Legend selling in the $2,000.00 arena once it sells out, yet I hardly consider that "skyrocketing" considering the hefty retail price tag. For those of us who want to see our items appreciate in value, the Efx Vader is a no-brainer.

Yeah, I was more referring to the QC issues, or potential issues. The Vader bust had it's issues and makes me worry about this piece. It's one of those - go with what you know or roll the dice on what could be an amazing piece.

I'm not familiar with the eFX QC control, and if Gino will be helping "finalize" these helmets like he did with the latest prototypes.

Maybe Gino can please chime in on that?!?!

I would be extremely surprised if QC on these (even the Limited) wasn't top notch. But perhaps Gino can indeed share whether there are specific plans in place.

You should have seen the packaging on the eFX McVader. They spared no expense, and mine only came with one very minor, and I mean very minor issue, which I solved myself. Amazing craftsmanship, if that term can be used for a semi-mass-produced item from China.

You guys are making me want to order this for a flip down the line...

my guess is that there will not be much of a secondary market on the Vader Legend as most of us who are lucky enough to grab one will not have the desire to ever sell.

Anyone able to shed some light on the differences between ANH vs. ESB/ROTJ vader hero helmets?

If Im not mistaken the differences are as follows:

1) Esb and rotj doesn't have the sharp widows brow peak, whereas anh has.

2) anh has smaller chin vents.

3) Anh is the rougher manifestation of the vader helmet whereas both Esb/rotj are presumably more pristine & glossy.

4) anh has reddish brown lenses whereas Esb/rotj uses black lenses.

Also, how are the reveal versions different? No Velcro attach attachments for the dome?

ANH has a different silver black scheme than the ESB and ROTJ - and if I'm not mistaken different shade of Gunmetal - ANHis more silver I think...

The anh dome placement sits lower overal (not just the tilt)

The anh tusks are also incongruent (color-wise)

no finer mesh behind the large mesh behind the mouth grill

I'm going for the LE, and with the money saved also getting some other prop replica soon. Too bad eFX went the way of exclusives like Sideshow (with their 1:1 Vader for example), and thus only rich non-US customers could get the Legend.
