The good thing is Jim Lee has a good track record of putting out some quality pieces. He will do Colossus right...I hope
Jim Lee will have nothing to do with the PF. His art will be the basis for the PF but SSC will have everything to do with making the PF. Their track record is spotty. You never know what liberties SSC will take with the piece. Just look at the face portrait of the comiquette. His face never looked like that in the modern X-MEN books. You never know what you'll get with SSC.

Well, finally got my last flex payment for the EX out of the way. Getting this piece on Monday. Now I have to figure out who I can get to customize his fugly armored face or change his EX head into the armored portrait. I'm still flabbergasted as to how the Mr Roboto head made it through the art direction phase of this piece.

Im with you, just finished my final flex today and got the shipping notice. Im very nervous about this one and plan to open it as soon as I get him.
I can't say I'm too nervous over this piece. I can safely say I like the pose and overall look of the statue. I already know I don't like the face on him. It'll cost some cash but there should be a way around that fugly face. It'll just be a matter of who I can find to customize the face portrait. I'm just not sure if it would be easier to custom the useless EX head on him of fill in the lines on existing armored head. It's a shame that any collector has to go through this in order to correct something SSC's art dept should have been all over from the start.
I already picked up the Crawler comiquette and I love it. I like the X-MEN and Colossus too much not to find a way to make the Colossus comiquette work in my collection. I guess I'll wait until I get him on Monday and see what direction I'm going to go with this piece.

All very good points. I'll pray that SSC will live up to our expectations and I totally agree the face was just not right at all on the comiquette. That said I can't resist Colossus and the pose and overall design I thought was a fresh take causing me to get it...all excluding the face IMO.

I'm with you on this fborecki. I do think the comiquette looks great except for the head. I really did like SSC's take on him otherwise. If I didn't dig the rest of the piece, I just would have said to hell with it and passed on this statue. The ONLY reason I'm going to these lengths to fix the face is because I do like the rest of the comiquette.
I have no customization skills whatsoever, or I would try to fix the face myself...till then maybe I'll just put a bag over his head with a cut out picture from the comics of how his face should look
. Actually I'm really excited because this statue and my colossus lsb should be coming today/tomorrow so I hope the combo up's the look of the face. IMO the lsb of colossus looks pretty sick and I wish SSC would have kept that face for the comq...but there is always hope for the PF.

Hi all, I was considering buying the new Colossus statue online. I then saw one in a comic shop and I was wondering if anyone else thought that his head was disproportionate to his body size on this statue? I thought his head looked incredibly small compared to the rest of his body, almost like a shrunken head! Very disappointed as its a huge statue and was going to get a good deal online.

Yes, most people feel that way wolverine. That said the sculpt/pose of the statue itself is very well done IMO. If you're into customizations at all you could also try your hand at fixing the head...but personally although the head isn't what I wanted it doesn't take away from what I feel the rest of the statue got right.

Oh don't get me wrong, I still think its an awesome piece of artwork, it was just that one thing that played on my mind. I wouldn't want to mess around with the head, done a few of my own models but only from kits etc. and then doing the paint job. I may still buy it

oh I hear you...mine (and the colossus lsb) comes in today and regardless of how much the head doesn't quite work for me I don't intend on attempting to fix it because I would find a way to make it worse
