Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Hey mrm, on that last one with the bank robber outfit, what did you use for the wet look on the hair? Spray, gel or something else? Mine has very dry hair and too fluffy. I want to bring it down.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Wet the hair then use hair gel, once you apply the gel you'll need to very gently comb it through, and use tooth pick to separate the strands, then let that dry over night. Then add just a tiny bit of oil just to give it that greasy look.

Unfortunately I've not found anything that styles and holds mohair in place permanently. I'm thinking I might try a starch spray for clothing since mohair is what wool clothing is made from, and acts more like a fabric then human hair. Anyway, I hope that helps.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

I really wish I could just hand deliver all of them to you guys that way I'd know nothing got messed up in shipping. :( Something happens during shipping that causes the hair products to wear off faster then they normally would. I'm thinking it's got to be the temperature changes during the shipping process that does it.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

These are complex heads, lots of materials going on. I'm sure I speak for every one of your customers when I say, your service and customer care are excellent Zack. You leave nothing to be desired :clap

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

I think Zack should hand deliver them ;)

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Thanks man, I'd like to inform everyone, and this goes for both heads, that you all may have to do some restyling at some point. If I find a better product to use on the hair I'll inform everyone of that too, but until then should anyone have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll do my best to help if there are any problems, thanks.

You're the man Zack...I'm still blown away by both of these Joker sculpts. :thud:

Having to add product or styling the hair to achieve the wet/greasy look after shipping is totally understandable and something I think most people can handle. Where it becomes difficult (at least it did for me in the past) was when the hair became curly during shipment. For the life of me, I couldn't straighten it out. :dunno:gah:

However, from the looks of the in-hand pics of late, it seems that whatever methods you use currently have eliminated this issue.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Definitely no worries about the hair product during shipping. It was definitely made clear that some upkeep would be needed on the hair. And I think almost everyone who has spent time in the Customs sections knows that nothing lasts forever to keep up a certain style / look.

nice photos monkey! heads look great

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

I've only just come across this somehow, amazing work Monkey.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

One thing I can recommend using on the hair is Got2B styling stuff. I would say the "Glued" one would work well, as it holds forever. I used it once on my Adam sculpt and haven't had to touch it in months.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

How long did it take you to sculpt the head?
