Re: English Premier League EPL - 2010-2011 Season

I was expecting 3-0 to Arsenal so that was BIG suprise. Alex McLeish must have learnt something when playing for SAF at Aberdeen about motivating players for big occasions and it's paid off big time.

United meanwhile got their usual win over Wigan and restored the 4 point lead but Shrek managed to get involved in another controversy via a misplaced elbow :gah:

Chicharito meanwhile was pure class, give it 3 or 4 years and he'll be the next player they sell to Madrid to help pay the Glazer family debts :lol

Re: English Premier League EPL - 2010-2011 Season

It was hardly misplaced mate. Looked like it was a well connected forearm smash to me:horror

Re: English Premier League EPL - 2010-2011 Season

Dear oh dear what happened in the cup final??
Can someone tell me why wenger takes off van persie and brings on bentdner??
Not one a trophy in 6 years and he takes off one of his best players.
Defence and goal keeper has cost them again. Wenger needs to take his head out of the sand and go and buy some quality at the back that can win things now and not in 3 or 4 years time.

On a sad note it was really sad to hear of Dean Richards death saturday morning.
A very good defender and great guy and such a short life ending at 36 years old.
Spurs v wolves on sunday should be quite moving and my thoughts are with Deans family and friends.

R.I.P Dean Richards

I was being sarcastic :peace

His defence is apparently going to be "I thought he was going to hit me" :lol

I'll say one thing for Shrek though, he hasn't yet descended to the level of stupidity displayed by Ashley Cole who could be in BIG trouble for SHOOTING a 21 year old sports science student on work experience at Chelsea's training ground.

He used a .22 rifle from 5 feet away and shot him in the side for no apparent reason.

I expect it'll be resolved with a nice cheque for the victim from either Cole himself or Uncle Roman but IMO he should be in jail.

RVP really banged his knee up when he scored the goal. I guess he tried to run it off but it wasn't getting any better. His only option was Bentdner.

Would have been a much different game if Cesc and Theo were playing. Oh well...at least we still have the League, FA Cup and Champions League to aim for.

Re: English Premier League EPL - 2010-2011 Season

Yeah I see he got injured when he scored. Unless he was calling to come off, I think i would have risked him. Would have had a better chance even carrying an injury than Bentdner.
I thought rosicky was a bit of a strange one playing through the middle.
Nasri is so wasted out wide. When Fabregas was injured last time, Nasri was one of the most inform players in the prem.
Champs league will be tough as will the FA cup.
I do think the league may end up in North london this year.
Man U's next 4 games could decide the title.
Liverpool away, chelsea rent boys home and away will be tough and I can see them dropping points.
Arsenal's run in is really not to bad.

Re: English Premier League EPL - 2010-2011 Season

Chelsea 2-1 Man Utd.

A predictable collapse from a Utd team that's been punching above their weight for most of the season.

The title will be Arsenal's.

Re: English Premier League EPL - 2010-2011 Season

Good game :clap titles still man u's though ;)

Re: English Premier League EPL - 2010-2011 Season

I'm just being realistic which is something many United fans seem incapable of doing.

Im not sure if its ours just yet but it is def within reach. If manu drops points this weekend and we win, its our title to lose.

Its refreshing to read an honest opinion from a united fan who doesnt have their head stuck in the sand.

Sky sports says that MANUs remaining schedule is the most difficult while Arsenal's is the easiest. If we win this weekend and MANU lose, we are within one point with a game in hand. I wonder how many people would bet their lives that MANU would win the title. I think it's still up for grabs and hardly a def title win for MANU.

And Nani is doing a terrific job for filling in for Ronaldo...spends half the time rolling around on the pitch acting like he was shot from a 50 calibre rifle and spends the other half yelling at the ref. It must be a Portuguese thing..

And gotta love SAF complaining about poor reffing after Rooney should have been shown Red for that ugly elbow to the ear last weekend. With Vidic out for this weekend Manu's defense is going to be very soft...a shame Torres isnt still with liverpool.

As much as I hated his primadonna antics Ronaldo had the ability to consistently create something from nothing in tight games to ensure the 3 points...........he hasn't been replaced, probably because the money isn't there.

They're also lacking a fiery, Roy Keane type presence in the middle of the pitch. Scholes can supply plenty of dirty tackles and the occasional good pass or goal but he can no longer grab a game by the balls and burst forward with the ball and the likes of Carrick,Fletcher & co are complete non entities.

For all Nani's claims of being one of the best in the world his crossing is still woefully inconsistent and a player of his age should by now have learnt not to try and beat everyone on his own every time he goes on a run......Giggs was the same for the first couple of years of his career but he obviously had the brains to work out that using that tactic all the time wouldn't end well.

IMO the only players that deserve to be in the current first team squad are,

Van Der Sar
Evra
Vidic
Ferdinand ( when fit )
Rafael
Fabio
Smalling
Giggs
Park Ji-Sung ( when fit )
Valencia ( when fit )
Berbatov
Hernandez

The rest are either too inconsistent or just plain crap.

I love that the two United fans argue with one another more than the Spurs/Arsenal fans. :lol

I wouldn't go that far. Spuds still suck. :pfft::pfft: :1-1:

It is interesting to hear two completely different opinions on MANU from their fans. Pretty clear that the rest of the season isn't going to be a cakewalk like many fans thought it was going to be. If they lose Sunday they are in serious trouble. Not being a homer but I do think Arsenal might beat them out for the title. I'm pretty sure we are going to get whooped in Barcelona next week without RVP, Fabregas and Theo. That will let us focus more on the title chase whereas MANU should go through to the next round. We win today against Leyton and we play MANU in the next round...things could get very interesting.

:mad::nana:

I think an exit from the CL will give Arsenal a realistic shot at the title... The injuries will mount otherwise.

We shall see. Though it would be really nice to win at the Nou Camp and shut some of my coworkers up. Fake condolences after Arsenal lost to Birmingham. "Lo siento jefe...Arsenal no sirve. Tu puedes cambiar su equipo para Barca."

"Sorry boss...Arsenal is no good. You can change your team to Barcelona."

Re: English Premier League EPL - 2010-2011 Season

You've answered my question. You really know sweet f.a. about football and more so Utd. As an actual life long (Manchester based) Utd supporter, you really do wind me up with some of the crap you type. Sorry mate, just being honest :)

I've supported them since the pre Ferguson days and had a season ticket for a few years in the 90's when I could still afford it but grew out of the stupidly biased hardcore fan stage many years ago.

Even though I now only have a casual intrest in the game it is still blatantly obvious that the squad is in decline and with no money to buy adequate replacements ie proven players I think there's a good chance the run of success since the early 90's is coming to an end.

I think it's crazy that some fans still act like United have a divine right to win everything.......they don't.

Yeah, I got quite a few texts after the game Sunday. There were some happy Yids here in the bay area. :lol

Re: English Premier League EPL - 2010-2011 Season

This does make me laugh. United will be there to the last day and even if they lose at the weekend and arsenal win , id still back Man U for the simple reason that they know how to win and SAF is a proven winner.
This is imo one of there worst seasons yet they have only lost a couple of games and should have had atleast a draw last night.
Arsenal are a great side, great manager but the squad is a little weak if key players are injured. Also the fact they can not stop a set piece doesn't bode well.
Rumour that rvp is out for 6 weeks will be a massive blow too.
If arsenal can come through there games with the players out injured, they may just do it but I think it will go to the final day.
Just glad there is no chavski fans claiming they are going to win it lol.
