The pic of the Ark combined with Indy was pimp-tastic! Anyone know which Indy that is - SS or Medicom? Call me new to the game, but if that's the SS Indy, it looks great and all the episode schwag you get makes it hard to pass this one up. Granted, 1500 copies of Indy wasn't smart, but if you're not planning on selling it and combining with the Ark, why wouldn't you?

Anyone know which Indy was combined with the Ark?

Thanks.

If you mean from the photos in the link, then that's the Premium Format 1/4 scale Indy from Sideshow.

I think you're thinking it was the 1/6 scale Indy, which both Sideshow and Medicom did.

Jim, thanks - even this one was 'limited' to 1,000 copies. But I can't see the differences between the 1/4 and 1/6 SS. For my collection case, I'm limited to the 1/6 figures - do you think either of the Medicom or SS figures is worth combining with the Ark?

I personally don't like to mix the scales. And I don't know how happy you would be with a 1/6 Indy and a 1/4 Ark.

I'm still happy with my Sideshow Indy, but a face repaint would put it in a whole other level. Take a look at the custom Indy thread to see the potential in the figure. If you can afford it, just wait for HT to release their 1/6 Indy (take a look at that thread as well). I can't get behind the Medicom Indy, though.

As far as the 1/6 Ark, you might want to track down the Hasbro Ark that was a mail-away offer when Crystal Skull was out. It's actually better than the alternative which is the Sideshow 1/6 Ark exclusive that came with Toht. However, either will probably run you about $60-$100 on ebay if you can even find them. I have the Toht ark and I'm perfectly happy with it.

Good luck!

Jim, thanks for the info on the mail-in Ark and your opinions on the Toht version. Having Toht himself in front of you, what do you think about the construction?

mfc, Toht is pretty good. His major flaw is the glasses that came with him. They are extremely thick-rimmed and horsey and should try to be replaced. And one smaller nitpick is his base body is paler than his head and hands, which you can see in the wrists and neck. But other than that he is a great figure that comes fully loaded with extras like the hot poker and even the folding hanger for his coat. The melty head is awesome and the Prometheus body is nice and tight.

Received this in the mail today! Awesome and very large. I was surprised at the weight of the box. The side poles have fabric on them, which is cool. I love the angels on the top. It is shiny, but could be much shiner with metallic gold paint. 4.5/5 for a great 1/4 scale Ark. Looks so cool with Indy!!!

Choopie, I've been wanting to learn how to post pics for awhile now. Maybe this will push me over the edge. Let me take some pics and try to figure out how to post them. I will say this inside of the Ark has black felt. It was cool when my 8 yr old asked if there was sand inside...

Here is mine #218/1000

Mine arrived today...sadly the top was broken in the thin detail around the edge :slap

Im hoping for a replacement......

Ark arrived. It's a nice piece, though it should have been shinier like the fertility idol. Not sure how much I like it displayed with the Indy PF. I think it looks better as a standalone.

It looks pretty good. Is it shinier than the Toht ark, or is it basically the same--painted gold instead of electroplated like the idol?

It looks enormous! Choopie, really? It doesn't look good with the Indy PF?

To me, going with the 1/4 scale just makes it oddly fit into a collection. It looks out of place next to the 1:1 Idol and just looks too big next the Indy PF. And it should have been electroplated like the Idol.

So far, the Idol is my favorite of the props line. I look forward to adding the ToD chalice.

So, it's pretty much the same finish as the Toht ark?

And I can see it being a little awkward to place next to the Indy PF because Indy's on a base and the ark isn't. It separates them too much that way. It might have been better if the ark also came with a base since even the idol has one. It would make the whole Indy line feel a little more cohesive.
