I'm not sure if anyone knows of this one, but since we're in search of an Alice to go with the Hatter, Tonner is doing a 10" one. Not exactly 1/6 BUT she did very in height throughout the movie until the end that is.

it's up at BBTS with pics if anyone wants to take a gander:

Hmm, she's too dollish for my collection. Outfit choice isn't to my liking either.

The tweetle dee and tweetle dum look nice. Very interested to see how they look along Medicom's Hatters.

Just heading out to look for a tea service for the Hatter. :)

I wouldn't pay $150 for that. :(

Tell me more about these.

pics if you happen to buy them!

:lol yea neither would I. I wouldn't pay that for the Medi Hatter either though. But some ppl do/did. Just figured if it went on sale, I'd buy it, switch the body and do sculpted hair and resculpt the face a bit. Think it could turn out looking pretty good with done work.

Those most likely won't be in 1/6 scale. They have the rabbit as well and he's 7" so I'm sure they'll most likely be about 9ish but who knows

Thanks. :)

Actually, other than the paint job it's a really good figure out of the box. And the hair is sculpted.

Got it. Will post pics in a little while. :)

oh no when I was talking about switching bodies and what not I was talking about that 10" Tonner Alice. I agree about the Mad Hatter being a good figure, I just can't see myself paying retail for it, but nothing against those that did :peace Hatter just needs a repaint and he's good to go!

Also, can't wait to see the tea set you got Mag!

Yeah, I wouldn't pay retail for Medi's Hatter either. But I got a great deal. :D

Well, here it is. All I brought into the store is his hands, which didn't really give me a good idea of scale. I just went for the set (there was only 3 to choose from) that would allow his finger to fit in the tea cup. I can see now that all 3 sets would have been too big.

I like the gold leafing, but could do without the bears. :slap

If the scale would have worked out better, I would paint something over them. But as it is, I think I'll just have them displayed with the bears turned away. :)

We'll see if I get used to them being over sized. If not, these function fine as a stand-in for now. :)

Hey Maglor, I like the tea set! :D His hands do make it tough to find a cup he can hold, which is why I switched the hands on mine out. lol

I really dislike Tonner figures in general. I absolutely hate their Kevin Flynn and Alice lines. They don't like anything like the actors they're supposed be. Alice's outfit and the Red Queen's are pretty accurate though. The Hatter and White Queen are way off. It bugs me that Tonner is the only ones to put out the Queens. The Tweedles look pretty good, but I would absolutely not pay that price. Yikes!

Looks good dude, dig it!

Thanks! :hi5:

Very helpful, Thanks. :)

I'm diggin' the set with the 4 playing card suits on it:

Tea set looks pretty good there Mag.

But, why are Hatter's pants so low? Shouldnt we be able to see his socks? :dunno

Hmm, I'll have to look into this...

Did you see what robbie did with his:

I got my figure and put him on a TT. So much better. The pants are a little tight but other then that its like Medicom tailored the clothes to fit a TT. Very strange.

As you can see, he's a lot happier.

On a different note, I dig your new sig and avatar! :rock

Thanks man. I love the way that pic turned out so much, that I can't stop staring at it. I figured the best way to keep it in sight was to put it in my sig! :lol

I'll have to go back and look at the set you're using and see your hands...

Yeah the price for T & T was: :horror

The card suite tea set you guys are looking at is Re-ment #52 Fairy Tableware. The entire set looks like this:

Okay, fine, images refuse to work for me this morning. Here are the links instead.

I also have this chess set in my Wonderland setup. I love it.

This is fun, too. Re-Ment has a whole animated Alice line out: https://cgi.ebay.com/Re-ment-Miniat...799?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51974c5f97

Maglor, on my Hatter's hands I'm using bendy hands. It isn't so much that he can get his fingers through the handle a lot better, but the wired hands help him hold onto to things better. He can hold the handle of the cup between his thumb and finger, if he... er, if I want him, too. :lol

If I remember right the pegs are too long and need to be cut down but other than that they plug right in. The head/neck mod is a lot more complicated. I'm out of town but when I get back I can look and see what I did if anyone wants.

Still, only Tonner put out an Alice. Even Mattel scrapped the production of their Alice doll that was supposed to come out along with their Hatter.

Mattel was going to release an Alice? Oh well, the headsculpt would have probably been poor if their Ghostbuster figures are any measure.

I recently preordered the Voyage of Wonder Tonner figure. I just love her outfit at the end.

I really want to see this. Please be sure and post it here when you are done. I just got a Sweeney Todd off Ebay and the he really needs his partner.

Will do, probably will finish it in the autumn. I tried to buy a HBC headsculpt from one of the Fight Club customisers, but they only sold completed figures. Working with the decapitated bust head is not ideal, but I think I will get it right eventually.

I don't think Disney is to blame. I just can't wrap my head around Medicom making a non Johnny character from a Burton film...I'd kill for a Mrs. Lovett or Alice but it's just not Medicom's nature.

Has Medicom ever even made any non-anime female character?

Hot Toys finally seems to be finally putting equal effort into its female characters (no interest, but the Blade III character looks fantastic), but my instinct is cultural attitudes about women play some role in the way companies like Medicom view female characters. Alice is neither sporting a big gun or skimpy outfit, so it was bound to be an uphill battle in the hobby.
