My girlfriend bought me this for Christmas and I finally opened it last night.

Man. This is a thing of beauty. I can't believe how nice this figure is, especially after all the moaning and nitpicking I've read. I may not be an eagle-eyed expert on the original Giger suit, but I've seen the movie enough and own the 18" NECA fig, to see that this is a fairly solid representation. Sure the teeth aren't as metallic, but overall, it looks like a sleeker, more realistic and smaller version of the NECA figure.

Hot Toys pulled off the actor in a rubber suit factor beautifully. Can I claim to be an undisputed expert on all things ALIEN who knows why this figure sucks? Of course not, but the figure looks pretty much like how I remember the darkness-shrouded monster from the film.

Definitely one of the finest Hot Toys figs I've received in awhile. I can't wait to get the Berserker Pred (my first) and T1 T-800 to stand by its side. I'm almost even tempted to track down the ancient HT ALIENS Ripley. Especially since HT doesn't seem interested in remaking her from the original film.

Congrats man!
Mine is currently on its way to me right now and Im also no expert on the Giger alien(or any alien for that matter) so this figure looks completely awesome and close enough to what I remember of the actual alien in the film.
It looks incredible in my opinion, accurate or not.

And well done on getting the T1 T-800 and your 1st predator too.
I got my 1st predator a few weeks ago - the P1 predator.
Its my favourite figure ATM.
As for the T1 T-800, that will take the P1s place as my fave figure once it arrives from the future :rock

The figure looks awesome to me too. I'm no expert either, but the Alien looks like one of the best representations from the original film IMHO.

I agree with you.Hes one of my favorite hot toy figures.Plus if you look at the production shots, he is very bendable.I didnt know until i messed around with him.

i'm gonna guess you guys said the same thing about the McFarlane toy as well. incidentally, Tsang had it on his desk while he was sculpting this one.

I've had mine for about a year now and so far its still perfect!! Nothing wrong with it (no cracks at all)! Its still one of my favorite and coming from a person that owns all the terminators all the aliens and almost all the preds that should say alot!!

I love this Figure, funny enough I don't think the pictures HT had done did it justice. I wasn't to sure about getting him at first but because I don't own any Alien Figs & this being Big Chap the original Alien, I had to really & I'm so glad I did because he's now one of my favourite figures.

Thanks! Congrats to you for snagging a P1. I'm kicking myself for missing out on it, but there's no way I can afford it for the prices it's going for. I still hope HT will make a Classic Pred from PREDATORS, but since they haven't mentioned it yet, I have to settle for the Berserker. Still, while the Berserker was a bad-ass design and my favorite from the new film, I'd rather have a Classic to represent the original film in my collection.

Uh... it's still the BEST Alien figure out there, and looks enough like the real thing to me?

I bought mine when it first came out and it's still looking great in my Detolf. No regrets in getting this fine piece.

wow I guess CelticP is an alien expert! He probably worked with giger on making big chap or maybe he just met an alien in person :cuckoo::rotfl

Why do people have to get so defensive about the HT Big Chap?
Every time someone (rightly) points out that it is a very loose interpretation of the creature from the film, people seem to get personal.
Why is that?

like i said earlier, i think they have to justify the purchase. seems like it's always after the fact.
