Of course you can, what I mean is its stupid. Its an awesome accessory for Indy, would an Ark have been better? To some, sure. But as was already pointed out for an all inclusive single Indy, its great and jives better with his costume and the backround. Instead of including things with a character that he isn't in that scene with.

When he is in gear with the ark, at no point is it just sitting visibly next to him, he and Sallah lift it togeather right out of the tomb, directly into the crate. You need alot to recreate that.

To recreate the idol scene, the more iconic scene thats reeacted everyday at a major theme park, you get everything u need.

Give me a Tuxedo costume Indy with no Adventure costume and include a mine cart, and then I'll call it a bad decision and _____. That wouldn't make sense.

Actually I'm seeing Mark(say Hi to your mother for me)Wahlberg in the sculpt.

I see some unfortunate similarities...

How can this be? It can't be.

In this picture I can see HF better:

It's hard to judge without pictures from other angles and in better light.

I haven't ever followed a Hot Toys from prototype to production, so I have no idea how much they usually change.

The issue now for me besides the sculpt still not being there is what has popped up at the show. You've got the Mark V (gonna get two since it has BD parts), Thor, Captain America, Iron Monger has been announced. Not to mention Spidey just went up and we're waiting on Superman as well. Factor in other items I have on order or will want to order. Plus until I get a full time job again I'm on a limited budget. This piece is gonna have to improve more for it to stay as a place holder order. I know some hammer on the SS figure but honestly I love my 3 Indy figures and my custom map room enough because they're good figures that if this doesn't improve I'll take the items above over Indy.

There are usually some very minor or hardly noticeable changes, but almost always for the better. I can't think of when a Hot Toys production figure changed for the worse.

I think Hans Landa's sculpt changed a teeny bit, so people were a bit more happy with it. I think the Wolverine head sculpt might've been the biggest change, but again, it's not even that noticeable. I couldn't tell you what changed, but I know people were poopoo-ing when pictures first came out, but now it's selling for double on eBay.

This time next year, I expect people will look back and roll their eyes about all this kvetching over Indy.

I did some cropping and colour adjustment:

I think he's looking pretty close, considering the real Harrison is looking straight ahead, and the HT downwards.

Keep in mind that these figures are being lit from the bottom up, which will make anybody's face look different, just like when someone holds a flashlight below their chin. Not to mention that the lighting itself looks very harsh. I have a feeling that these may look much better once they are photographed in more flattering lighting.

EDIT: What he said ^.

Most of the lighting is coming from the bottom of the display. That's going to throw the sculpt off.

The moeyo.com image of him in the robes is much nicer.

Hot toys: Better Paint, More realistic looking sculpt. doesn't look enough like Ford.
Sideshow: Great Ford likeness, Crappy paint job

With luck, we will see a change like we saw with Blade. It's early, it can still change. It could also be photography or shadows throwing it off. I don't know.

Personally, i don;t like the jacket material either, but that's just preference.

Will I buy this?
most likely.

I have to say while the accessories etc. are great and i'm glad HT is offering plenty with the set, the likeness is just not there yet.

This just highlights for me how off the hat is too.
And if you put that headsculpt without the hat + scar on a different figure and asked me to guess who it was it would take a couple of guesses to get to HF. That is not good enough as far as I am concerned.

The brim of the hat needs to curve upwards more.

The sculpt is close, just need to match it with an identical pose to see any real differences. To see whether the proportions are off.

I agree. The fact is you can change the lighting all you want it isn't gonna change that the sculpt is off somehow. Pretty disappointing considering how when the proto for sideshows version was finally shown everyone was in awe of Trevor's work and the figure in general. Now Ht comes along and there is so much that needs fixed. I had thought being HT Indy this would be a must have for me, but unless it changes drastically my customized SS Indy is much better.

:lol@Dune So ur the lucky freak who got all the glory on posting this pic first! :nana:

Anywayz....He looks awesome. But I must stay loyal to ToD and wait for that version of Indy instead and hopefully Mola Ram....OMG....and Shorty! :drool
Heck...I'll even take Willie, Lao Che or the creepy Maharajah kid! :rock
Anything from Indy 2. :lol

This summarizes what's wrong with this whole debacle. Everybody's got this idea that every figure Hot Toys puts out is perfect, but the reality is, each one they put out always has something wrong. . . everybody's gotta break out their PS skilz. It can't be perfect to everybody all at one time.

It's called cognitive dissonance, "Hot Toys is perfect", "Hot Toys is not perfect", what happens when you try to believe both at the same time??. . . "AAAGGGHHHHH, it's not perfect, my brain asplode. This head is awful. FAIL, HOT TOYS, FAIL!!!"
