The announcement of the 1/4 P1 gave me an interest in this and I placed a 'preorder' for this on BBTS (released Nov 2010 so it says) -whats the deal? Is it in fact being rereleased?

Yeah, I'm not sure. they have the 8" Classic Alien on there too, but as far as I know NECA has not announced a re-release of the 18" Alien, and the only Classic Alien re-release is with the TRU 2-pack, so I'm not sure what is up with that.

Maybe just try e-mailing them and asking when they expect thier stock to arrive.

It's possible that NECA might take advantage of the hype around the 18" Predator to re-release the alien.
Might be cool, 'cause it should have better paint apps and the foggy dome to boot.

I might do that. Sometimes you can't completely trust their website that it isn't just something that hasn't been updated.

I mean theres a set of NECA Conan figures I've had on 'preorder' with them for ages now that are scheduled for release in November 2008!

It would be really great if this would Neca Alien Re-Release.

Actually, the figure was great, they only had a couple of errors.

The joints in the neck and thighs did not look good and the painting of the skull was horrible.

The alien from AVP Toys R Us set is in the paint much better.
Since the painting of the skull looks really real

Not in 18" inch scale, it hasn't.
The only 18" scale alien released by NECA is the original Giger design.
The warrior alien from Aliens has only been released in 7" scale.

But they have done it, and he said that they hadn't. I didn't know he meant in the 18 inch scale.

I'd love to own one that large but it would take up too much space with everything else I have...

I really hope BBTS can fulfill my order for this and that its listing on the site wasn't some kind of mistake. I already know I love the sculpt as I have the small figure, it captures as much of the original Alien as it can without having real slime dripping off its face. This thing posed face to face with the Predator would kick supreme a$$.

Is that one from your own collection? A commissioned piece, or did you paint it yourself?? Looks fantastic, only thing I'd have changed (if it were me) would a darker frontal dome.
