Also tecnically the shorter body is more screen accurate than the taller proto.

...if you pretend that our P1 figure represents the classic from Predators. However we all know the P1 himself should have been bigger - at least the size of the older predator figures - if that had been the case there'd be no question whatsoever that berserker is too small at his current size.

What we have now are cop-out rationalisations that only work because an earlier figure was made too small aswell.

But look..I'm sorry..its already a dead-horse. Please no one say anything else because I'll just have to have the last word and this will just run and RUN!!! :lol

They just need to make the dreads longer, too late for Hot Toys to redo the whole thing unless people want to wait a few more months.

The P1 is underscaled. I totally get the Bersereker and pals are suppose to be a bigger breed of Preds but non of the stuntmen portraying them were close to 7" without make-up on. But yes in reality KPH and Ian White are about 6 to 9" taller than the stuntmen who protrayed the new Preds. The current Berserker sis about 14" which is the equivalent of a 7" man in 1/1 scale, and Berserker in make-up would have been around 7' give or take. KPH and White would have about 7'6" or so in make-up and their Preds should have been about 14 1/2 to 15" if you really wanna get picky on height.

I'll have a lot of praise, I just don't see why we shouldn't be a bit miffed that HT shrunk him down after putting such emphasis on his size in the initial photos....and, up to present, not dropping the price. Figures still cool but dodgy move by HT.

How is it a dodgy move when everything is proportionate to what was seen in the movie. If he was as tall as the prototype, he would be bigger than than he was in the movie. And as for the dreads, they look the same length as they do in the movie when the figures head is at the right angle. I think it's a case of picking for picking sake. Pure negativity in the face of an obviously magnificent figure.

I'd rather call it 'objectivity'. I grant you, on this particular figure and on the Wolf predator we've been talking about in the sticky thread, I've dwelled more on the negative but don't assume thats true of me or other people all of the time. Not saying you are but I'm just putting that out there.

I think Darth Fatso has struck a good balance of praise and criticism. My overall impression is he really likes the figure despite having all the same problems with it as me by the looks of it.

Where does it say that the P1 and Classic are supposed to be the same size? They are supposed to be different versions, because the original Predator obviously died.

An impartial, unbiased attitude, and avoidance of any conflict. :rotfl It's nitpicking when the figure looks this good.

Everyone defending the berserker figure's height is pointing to the height relationship between him and Classic in Predators and pointing to the HT P1 figure. Therefore you guys are implying it.

^IN CANON THEY ARE MUCH TALLER THAN IN THE MOVIE. Thats the main reason i was going to get this figure, i thought they were going to make him much taller than the classics. Almost nothing was proportionate to what we saw in the movie..

So the only reason to buy these figures is because of their scale? Not because they are stunning bits of art? That really is the thin edge of the wedge.

No way...

No, I'm still buying it. I just like discussing this stuff, I consider it another fun part of the hobby. I have zero issues with Royce by the way, excellent figure.

edit - ah I thought posting the Royce pics might have been an error.

are you implying that classic pred should be midget size??that doesnt sound right. P1 and classic were of the same breed/tribe. the height comparison among tribe members is good as guess work. but P1 was no midget, only the 1:6 figure is. under scaling this pred because P1 is underscaled...2 wrongs doesnt make it right.:dunno

anyway, to each his own. nitpickers and unsatisfied customers like me will be eventually looking and planning for a good mod.:lol

The truth. 3 different and un-moving/stubborn camps on this figure.

1)Its a Predator it rocks
2)Its screen accurate because actors height
3)Its inaccurate in scale due to hight and head size. Berserker's are bigger and better.

Atleast most people are happy enough to buy him. Despite the inaccuracy's he is still a great figure.
Just need to stop the pointless arguments as both cant really be won due to no definitive evidence.
I am sure I read or herd on some commentary that they wanted few full body shots to create a tall illusion ?. Making them bigger than the actual actor is suit. Not 100% sure but I think it was on one of the movies making of/directors commentary.

I'm still buying it too.. Just disappointed.

You can clearly see the dreads don't reach as far. After looking at these together i think it's just because the head sculpt is so tilted..
Can't get the pics set up right..lol

ankle ball joint is as big as the neck one now. maybe cannibalize a TT body(broken) for that neck peg to use as extension.

Bigger by slightly.... not as big as TT neck joint.. unless someone prove me wrong and stuff a HT head/neck snugly on the Berserkers' ankle ball.. Note: HT's neck/head assembly have 2 sizes of ball joint as well...

yeah, cant wait to get it in hand to appraise the peg joints. i'm just putting out all the options i can get for that height mod. :]
