Damn Mag, those are going to be frigging perfect when the heads are on.

do you guys think this suit would work:

i have it and the fit is really nice, but i think the color is a little light. i wonder if it could be dyed to a darker tone. i think the shirt and tie is perfect for arthur. anyone have experience in dying cloth and outfits?

Love the jacket. IMO I think you should sew the corners of the collar down to make it look more realistic. This is something That I always do when the collars stick up like that. Great bashes though.

^^^ Thanks for the suggestion. Once I get the head, I'll see what I can do with futzing. If that doesn't do the trick I'll sew it down. :)

Cobb's belt looks fine to me. Mighty impressive work. I love it. These two figures next to each other will really contrast well in a good way.

Thanks, I was going for contrast. :)

Regarding the belt, I'll post comparison pics when the other belt I bought arrives.

I think it would work great. It looks like the vest wouldn't need tailoring like the Wayne vest does. I'm sure there are guy that could tell you how to do the dying.

I would get a white shirt though, unless bleaching would work.

Wish me luck, I'm about to dye my Stark2 suit.... *nervous*

Suit took the dye famously. The stitching was dark enough that it probably won't be noticeable at all. :yess:

And now that it's dry.... it still looks blue. I'm not sure if I just didn't let it soak long enough, or it's synthetic and won't take it. I think it's darker than it was, so I think I'll give it a second round of dye and let it soak for a bit. :monkey1

I just follow the directions on the packet of dye. I've been using the powdered RIT dye. It comes in little boxes and in a variety of colours, and it's pretty cheap (about $2 a box).

I tried dying a coat from brown to black. It looked great when I first took it out but once it had dried, it was just a dark brown. It was a shiny synthetic type material, it sounds a lot like what you've said! I don't think it will take the dye any more, but I haven't tried again, so I can't say for sure.

Dying something from white is as easy as pie, takes dye so easily. I dyed a shirt from white to blue and it was easy! Also you can just take it out after a shorter period for a lighter shade.

Okay, there are a few things I need to tweek:

1) Tailor the vest.
2) Put on different belt for Cobb when it arrives. :impatient:
3) Give Cobb a ring somehow.
4) Watch for Arthur (?)
5) Darken Cobb's shoes a bit.
6) Trim some excess off of Arthurs belt.

...well, and get heads. :lol

Anyway, here they are as of now:

The pants are from the Hot Toys Chris Redfield figure.

The shoes are from Sideshow's ROTLA Indiana Jones figure.

Sunohc, I was wondering if you could post a picture of your Cobb and Arthur heads side by side, in the same picture. I would like an accurate idea of scale. You mentioned at one point that Arthur looked bigger than Cobb, and I would be curious to see.

Thanks.

Oo, good idea. Futzing can only do so much I'm sure.

Who is going to paint your heads, Maglor? Can't wait to see the finished products.

hey thanks for those finds
I actually have a few pictures of them together on my site
(

but then I cropped a picture of the updated Cobb head (not the latest though) on top of it, but they are very similar in size. I added a lot of weight to Leo since the time when I thought Leo would have a smaller head, so they're pretty even.

I won't be able to take any new pictures til December :( so you guys will see them in hand before I do, since my friend in Cali is shipping all the heads out

THAT, my friend, is privileged information. :wink1:

I've yet to have anyone paint a head of mine. I have one lined up for my Maximus (if I ever get him :impatient: ) and if his finished product looks as great as his photos, I'm gonna send these his way. Hopefully the DVD will be out by then for proper screen caps as reference :)

Nothing new, just a couple more pics:

The jacket looks nice and brown here:

Any suggestions on how to get out the 'pee stain' on Cobb?

Guys... I think I'm going to have to drop out of this one. :(

Baby on the way and my brother in law just moved out with no warning (and took his rent with him).

So I have both headsculpts with necks on order, the Stark 2 suit (slightly darker blue now since I tried to dye it black), DiD vest and the Firefly sling backpack available if anyone is interested.

^^^Bummer man. :(

You could hold on to the head sculpts until funds are available. :huh

Hmm, tried a bit of soapy water?

Do you think that will work? It looks like maybe a glue stain from the velcro fly.

hey guys, i was reading through the thread and you ost me at abt page 30. so right now, which parts are the most recommended and what are the alternatives?

I've got the heads and a DID vest.
