I dunno...the loss of ankle articulation kinda depresses me...I like companies to keep moving forward, it seems like the new Predators figures will be a step forward in the detail, and feel of their skin, while also a step back in articulation.

You have to attribute that to the particular design.

Since these new Preds seem to be wearing some kind of boot, ankle articulation is obviously going to be limited.

You can't fault Hot Toys (or NECA) for that.

I get what you're saying, but there are plently of ways to give them the boots, and retain articulation. You can't say it'd be impossible. There's two sides to every coin. Also, my choice to dislike the figure for it's not having the articulation I would prefer, is my right. Just like, you have the right not to care either way, or be satisfied with the figure as is. It's the beauty of capitalism.

I only ask this in 12 or 19 inches:

No rubber skin, not too many joints. Would be nice to me only in the arms, neck and waist. Groin knees and feet leave them static...

I don't think he was meaning to dis you, just explaining that like a human figure in combat boots, putting boots on the predators instead of the sandals they wear will hinder articulation. There's no way of compensating for that without it looking hokey. As for the torso, it'll be a rubber sleeve over an articulated piece. That will also hinder movement a bit, but you'll still have some minor articulation there.

What the hell is up with the new people being so sensitive?

As Nam said above, I'm not saying your opinion is wrong in any way.

I'm just telling you that, based on the design of the Preds in the movie, the boots were bound to hinder articulation. Just as boots on a human figure would.

All of the human figures Hot Toys puts out, that have boots on, suffer the same limited ankle articulation. So, you should expect the same of the Preds.

Don't take it so personal.

If it can only have two heads instead of three, then I hope that it'll be the 'calm' face and the helmeted look. The roaring one is nice, but it's been done to death by now, and the calm one is just perfect.

NOT....GOING....TO....HAPPEN! :slap

And why not?
It is possible.
You always grieve that it is not and will not happen.
What about then?

How do you imagine this figure?
Do you even a 18 "Neca Predator?

You show there is scarcely commitment.

I hope not added other joints. Those of 7 "are enough. I do not want the 18" Neca become a doll style Hot Toys. I prefer a more static statue and hidden joints. Stability would be affected also.

Yes, I agree.
By joints often see the Figures look bad.

I would most like something in the direction of PVC statue.

An 18" P1 probably will happen. But judging by the way previous releases have been, it's doubtful that NECA will release a figure more or as souped-up as the HT version. And NECA doesn't seem to do interchangeable heads for their Predator figures. At best, they'll release a bunch, each with one of the three head possibilities, but no other difference in packaging or accessories. Even that sounds highly unlikely, though :dunno.

I'm committed to this figure.

But NECA has stated TIME AND TIME AGAIN (a fact you keep ignoring) that sculpting Predators is MORE expensive than sculpting other figures.

So, even though they may have included interchangeable heads on other figures, it's not economically sound to do it with a Predator figure.

But, keep dreaming your dream...because that's the only way you'll see it happen. :wave

So if this does get made without interchangeable heads, which head would you guys like to have? I would prefer either roaring mandibles or masked.

unmasked. the mask doesn't have much detail. the only thing that would make by buy a masked version is if it had a light-up feature.

this is all assuming NECA even makes the 18" scale version. which i haven't seen confirmed.

Masked or roaring... and masked wouldn't look half bad. If it's a larger scale figure (and they use this to their advantage for better paint apps), then the helmet would turn out pretty well.

neca will make more than enough money off the 7 inch sculpt of the p1, to be able to include an extra head with the 18 in. p1,
if not they need to close shop and go home, they're selling this same body twice as the classic predator, then in aboxset, then at least 4 more times as singles as p1, and then useing the body again for elder predator 2. there's really no excuse, not even cost, not to include an extra head, and a top notch paint job on a 18 in.p1.they will make a killing off this one sculpt.

I'm truly hoping this gets made, and including at least an alternate helmeted portrait...

The Balroq they made a few years back was great, and that was a specialty release with no frills packaging. If they did a P1 the same, it would be a grand triumph!
