I think at least some version of him from Dangerous and History era are needed and Moonwalker/ Smooth Criminal is a must. If they don't make them, I'll make them myself!!!

I might even just break down and make a Werecat version if I have to.

My guess is that sadly, this will be it...
HT over saturated the market with Thriller MJ and over-priced BAD MJ...

Unless they come up with a kick ass Smooth Criminal, Thriller Werecat or Beat-It version, I think the line is done...

Thats what im thinking but M.J does seems to be somewhat of a cash cow, so HT may continue it....

Like someone else mentioned though, constantly releasing M.J figures is kinda pointless when you can cover so much w/a couple of good sculpts... They should just put out a couple of good solid headsculpts that cover a wide variety of video looks. A "ponytail M.J w/hair in face", maybe a sculpt with all his hair down (ala BAD) but with more of Dangerous/HIStory skin tone. Michaels hair at his peak really didnt change drastically. He basically kept it simple with the wet ponytails, sideburns, & all around stringy look. He cut it, but thats not "signature/classic" M.J so most want be to worried about not having that style..

Then maybe release some sort of M:Icon accessory line that feats. many of M.J signature outfits....& call it day...

The little fact that we have now after his death is that he wore wigs and had weaved hair sewn in. So if we could get face sculpts with interchangeable hair pieces, that would be awesome.

^^Regarding the "Bad" figure?

Hope so! It should be released sometime this week or next week!

BTW, how do you guys think the PERS system will work? Do you think the head will be magnetic like DX02 Batman or have to remove an area of the hair to access it (DX01 Joker)

Is this a guaranteed sell out?... or will there be plenty to go after release...

When will Sideshow likely to get this? a month or 2 after Toys2?

I doubt the head will be magnetized ..Id bet you just take his hair off at the back.
Man i gotta sell a few things quick so i will have some cash ready 4 this guy!

I would hope there are more to the MJ series then just Thriller and DX3.

Many are speculating that it would launch during his 1st year anniversary.

I may wait a bit and see if prices go down, I don't think he will sell as fast as Batman DX did.

They also did Billie Jean History Tour...

Its kinda sad that even with this figure being based upon such an iconic mj ..this thread has gotten so little attention ..and the recently announced Abigale whistler(a nobody character most would agree),the thread for her has already gotten about 172 comments and 6,374 views ..where as this figure only about a week from release has not much more then that.

You have to keep in mind the audience. This place is more oriented towards comic related stuff.

Plus she's a hot chick, that has some draw to it.

My thoughts exactly. Everyday I come to the board, I look for this thread, hoping lots of new pics & discussion will be in it. Sadly, that dosent happen often....But oh well, if Q's HK buddy is right, hopefully he'll be in my hands within the next week, so i'll no longer care to hear anything "new"!

Anyone have an idea on what the "Multi-layered stereoscopic hair sculpture" actual means? ..im just curios as both this and whiplash seem to have it and in that proto pic of the MV you can see a whiplash sculpt with his hairsculpt separated into several different pieces ..i know it cant just mean the hair comes apart to access the pers as joker had this but he was never mentioned as having this Multi-layered stereoscopic hair sculpture in the specs for him.
Could it be just a fancy way of saying ..hey we put a bit more detail into our hairsculpts.

^^Ive been questioning that as well! Along with speculating how you'll gain access to the PERS! Im personally hoping the head will be magnetic, but like others mentioned thats probably unlikely. Especially seeing how they implemented the PERS on the Joker.

Like you said though, Im assuming its just some unecessary, rocket-science way of saying the hair is heavily layered with many sculpted pieces.

If you look at his hair sculpture closely its easy to guess exactly where the hair would come off ..its very obvious, and it will look natural unlike dx jokers which looks weird the way it sticks out from the side.

This seems to be the latest picture of the figure from hot toys window display ..is it me or does it look like they made his jaw more accurate? its much closer to his ear now i think.

Yeah, I do think they worked his jaw. Great to see improvements, they always update their sculpts from protos.
