Re: Apple's WDCC 2010

Current iPhone and iPad owners won't be required to switch to one of the new plans (although they can do so without affecting the expiration date of their current contract).

This isn't a tactic to grab customers and hold them hostage this is their half-assed response to problems on their networks. Limit the new guys, the hundreds that will come in because of the iPhone 4 for example but do not piss off your customer base completely.

Ok WTF...the woman got her phone less than a month from me. She dialed the *639# to see if she is eligible which it said she is but apparently I am not. I am not happy right now, hopefully it is some glitch. Cause I cannot log into the AT&T site right now.

Pretty much. This is why I've been hoping Verizon gets the iPhone. I wouldn't lose any sleep dropping AT&T like a bad habit.

Is this how they let you know if you're eligible for an upgrade??

It is one of the ways I guess. They will send you a text message saying if you are eligible or not. You should be able to log into the website to find out but right now their site is really broken because I am sure there are 10 million other people doing the same thing.

Re: Apple's WDCC 2010

Plus if its within that six month window you should be ok. Thats if I'm reading it correctly. I'm not due till September but thats easily within that six month window.

Yea, I am not sure exactly when we are due, either is my lady. Hopefully the site will be back up soon so I can find out.

Re: Apple's WDCC 2010

Says I can have it with a new 2 year contract and an $18 upgrade fee. Cool with me. New 32gb Iphone coming my way! :rock

Re: Apple's WDCC 2010

Anyone know the extension for iBooks? With Comic Reader Mobi banned from the iTunes store I'm going to need a new way of getting my comics into my phone and upcoming iPad.

Re: Apple's WDCC 2010

So what are you thinking, BadMoon?

The most important feature of the iPhone, to me, wasn't mentioned during the presentation: seamless integration with my computer.

With my iPhone, it's all automatic syncing with iTunes, iCal, AddressBook, etc. If I moved to Android, I'd have to rig up some sort of syncing system. Seems like a hassle.

On the surface, the Evo seem like the better deal considering the unlimited data and the larger screen, but I keep thinking of how I never have to think about syncing my phone. If I went with Android, figuring out how to get my data on the phone becomes an issue.

Decisions, decisions. I will have to ponder on this a while.

I heard it's no problem syncing to a mac through android. I don't know man. This is tough! I just went to radio shack and they are taking pre orders for $50 and I can have the evo on Thursday if I want it. I think I will call verizon and threaten to leave one more time. If they get me a good deal on the incredible we will see. I just don't know what to do. The Evo's stats are far more impressive than the iphones.

Re: Apple's WDCC 2010

The new phone has some nice features, but that iAds is the fail if you can't turn it off. Buy it and pay service to be bombarded with ads?

Re: Apple's WDCC 2010

iAds supposedly will cross all platforms if you update to iOS. He put it into the presentation to "explain" it so people wouldn't go WTF on the launch date.

I think the idea is so that developers can offer apps for free but still generate revenue. I'd imagine if you paid for the app, you wouldn't be hit with ads.

I forgot to mention that the Evo is 4g and I can upgrade the memory. However, apple is pure tech sex. I love my mac. :gah:

I think this is why I'm going to ultimately end up with the iPhone.

The Apple experience + $20 a month savings (compared to Evo) + 200 MB cap > Evo + Unlimited data

I think I'm going to go with the iPhone at the 200 MB cap, try it, and upgrade to the 2 GB if need be.

It sucks not having unlimited data, but the Apple experience + knowing all this ____ is gonna work with my mac is what's swaying me at the moment.

Re: Apple's WDCC 2010

If I was just jumping into this I would go with the 2gb just to cover my butt. However, I'm getting lucky being already granfathered in with having an unlimited plan.

The beauty is that you can go in at 200 MB and upgrade to 2 GB without taking any contract penalties.

That list would barely sell me the Evo over the iPhone, if all that data is true than that are way close too close that to me the iPhone wins with a better UI and more apps available. Plus it has itunes which is just WAY too convenient to pass up.
