Anyone ever have to relocate because of their spouse?

Its never a pretty sight. Its amazing to me how someone can hurt the other one they apparently love. The coldest is when you don't see it. But for you man, its cool that this happened to you before you got married to her. That saved you more heartache and money in the long run.

I have a buddy here in Vegas, that his wife wants a divorce (after 14 years and 3 kids), no reason, she just wants out. They tried to work it out, but I guess she was just get her cards in order while jerking him around. She was seeing another dude and racking up charges on his cards. She then called the cops and accused him of 'domestic abuse'. Now he gets arrested, while in jail he loses job and then she files restraining order, now he can't see his kids. To boot, he is out of his house and his family lives in Chi-town. So he can't leave Vegas, until all this drama is taken care of, which at the earliest be February 2011. So he has no job, no family, no house and no love. Now he didn't really see it coming. So dude, its probably a blessing this happened to you cause if a woman (or man) can find 'someone better' so fast. I hope you find someone better when the time comes.

Yikes man..... That's rough! I'm sorry to hear that this happened to your friend! I couldn't imagine going through that :( But thanks for chiming in here. I agree, although I don't FULLY see the value of the lesson here YET. But as you said, it's so surprising to see someone that proclaims they "love you so much" yet they seem HEARTLESS when they get what they want and don't care about your feelings in the process.... :cuckoo::gah:

So yeah, time to head back to LA from my summer "vacation" and hit the ground running :panic:

Wow, it must be really easy to get a restraining order in Vegas. Here you first have to have proof of abuse with charges filed. You can't just say he abused me and I want a restraining order. The cops wouldn't arrest him here just on her word. Are you saying your friend was arrested on her word only, and got a restraining order on her word only? Without him doing a thing? Then he also doesn't get to see his family at all? Something isn't right here.

Well what happened is that they where arguing because he found out she had another guy's phone number and he read some texts that basically said I can't wait to see you, type stuff. Well, he slammed the closet door trying to get his shoes and it fell off the hinge and when the door fell it shattered the glass mirror door. Well he went outside to call this guy (her apparently new man) and she closed the front door and locked it, she then called cops while he was outside. When the cops came, he was still outside on the phone asking her to let him in. Well the cops came in and she gave a good enough acting job and apparently she scratched herself in the neck and said he did it. I know this dude and I know he wouldn't that to her, he tried hard to stay with her, even last year when she first asked for a divorce...So they arrested him for that and of course this allows her to get the restraining order.

My boy is homeless now...well actually he move into a halfway house from his church...I just feel so bad for him. The worst is that he has 3 kids and he misses them...Especially his 4yr old little girl..

well l would love to get married one day.but there always the chance of divorce and its always the women who gets it all, its stupid.anyway if l get married and smell a divorce just take your money out of the bank and hide it in a large safe or some were secure,if you have assets cars or something make fake bills of sales with your friends and say you sold it to them and when lawyers say were is all your money you just say im a gambler and gambled it all away.thats what ill do and say.divorce rules are a joke.l know a few great guys who had there lives destroyed because of divorce.but in the end people who arnt right for each other get married and it doesnt work other just hit a bump in the road and say l want a divorce.people dont try and work it out as much as they should.back in the day divorce was a no no,now its the norm.

I agree here with you folks..... I don't understand why people just immediately want to throw in the white towel. Then try and get married SEVERAL times! :dunno

Now there's nothing wrong with people that have been married more than once.... I personally wouldn't know since I have yet to be married, but my mentality is that when you step onto that alter, you're vowing to dedicate your LIFE to ONE person, and to never quit on them..... (that's of course if they keep up their end of the bargain to - no cheating or stealing) I swear I need to become a therapist or counselor. I always find myself intrigued to hear other people's experiences with relationships, yet I never seem to really apply all the advice people lend me :slap We all learn on our own..... But I like chatting with you folks about it! :D

Yikes man..... What a nightmare!!!! :gah: Although I don't know all the details of the incident, I'm sorry he has to go through that... That must be REALLY difficult... But it does reinforce your point, that it's so amazing how someone can hurt someone so badly after all the time and love that was put into a relationship..... Such a shame :thud:

I know too many women who are left with nothing, so it can go both ways. It all really depends on who has the better lawyer. I work with one lady who will have to work the rest of her life after he left her for a 22 year old after 30 years of marriage. She got the house (which she's still paying for), PERIOD! She gets nothing from him, not even part of his pension. She got the house and the bills. She can retire in five years but won't be able to afford to.

Why do people get married when almost everyone has something negative to say about it? :huh
