I wanted them to explain Arnie's more aged appearance in T3 -perhaps by saying that the living tissue ages at a faster rate than a normal human and that ordinarily they would be reskinned or something.
Then again if you believe the Sarah Connor Chronicles the living tissue has advanced healing capabilities (you never got to see it in the films because each Terminator was destroyed shortly after) and thus surely would also be capable of rejuvenating all by itself.

Anyway, I've kinda brought this up before but does anyone think the T-800 in T2 seemed unduly weakened by the T-1000 in the steel mill? It seems all the T-1000 did was knock him into a few walls, force him to have his hand torn off, beat him about with a pole and then ram him with a steel beam - twice in the torso, twice in the head. Aren't the endoskeletons designed to take these kind of impacts? Should that have been enough to have the T-800 crawling? Or should we just let it be that T1 and T2 dictate the amount of battering they can take and completely and utterly forget about T3 and T4.

Nope, that wasn´t the case at all.
So it was that what I thought all along: the molting process.
Thx for that.
Your quite fond of AvP in all it´s facettes, to call it that way, right?
What do you say about the differences between the warriors of the movies and now the new game and the newest incarnation of the predalien?

Yeah, I'm a HUGE fan of the IDEA of Aliens vs. Predator.
Neither of the movies have done it right thought. Although, I did enjoy AvP:R.
Nothing beats the original AvP comic book. Great story, great characters...LOVED IT.

See below for my thoughts on the new Predalien design (it's good).

Sorry if I missed it but does anyone have a nice clear pic of the new predalien?

Here you go.

Best Predalien design I've seen in a long time.
But WAY underused in the game. I wish we'd ran into it in the Marine single player game.

@Alien/Predator Total Destruction boxset...

I was wondering - does this include Theatrical and Special editions of the films, and does it have the Unrated editions of AVP and AVP2? Also, what's included on the Extras disc...

Hope this isn't too much trouble!

It got the theatrical and extended versions on board, yes!

@Sabres: My thoughts also.
The first AvP went horribly wrong. I mean the preds "looked" kinda cool but they´re much too bulky and the hole plasma caster mechanic was too clunky and the sounds and the unmasked look...ah hell, let´s just leave it that way^^

The idea behind the temple is awesome, loved it but the humans were stupid, too heavily featured and the way how they referenced the whole story from the first AvP comic was bad too. I don´t enjoy the comics though, I must say.
It´s the same as with the Hulk: the things cool with the rage and all, but it´s boring in comic form, you know?

The new predalien´s awesome. but your right about "underused".
Maybe it´ll be used in DLC more.
Whadda ya think?

So, here we go:

Alright, now that you say that...totally reasonable, but I read elsewhere that he "tricked" Weyland, but the pose and the fact that the queen died just moments before...

This makes it look like the strongest warrior automatically becomes a praetorian to secure the hive and when it´s secure starts to molt into a queen.

Does that sound like a good interpretation?

Hmm... guess I didn't get a clear view of 6 at the end.
However, I did say that 6 was molting into a queen at the end.
Must be because I thought I saw mini arms.

Also, thanks for the Predalien pix Sabres.
I was too busy fighting it off to be able to "admire its purity". :lol

Now I want one though. :(
The dreds don't look like pipi-long stockings. (unlike the movie ver.)

Love the mandibles on the PredAlien, but I still hate the dreads. So did ADI, but they were slaves to the producers. When told to add dreads to the design concepts, ADI replied, "(paraphrase) You're kidding. Seriously?" Got that from the men themselves at last year's Monsterpalooza in Burbank.

I've always found the dreads a bit daft. Although predators dreads aren't probably part of their body in the same way human hair is it's still like coming across an alien with a Mohawk or an Afro. :lol

So watching Alien Resurrection! :horror In all seriousness I like the film! :rock

My question: Why do the Aliens have the wierd extra leg joint? Aliens Freaks will know what I mean, is it maybe because of the human DNA being introduced?

I've always liked Resurrection ( and the newborn :monkey3 ) , as for the legs , I have no idea why they look like that but they always reminded me of Werewolf legs.

Who doesn't get teary when the newborn is ripped through the window ?. :lol:lol

Me, too.

What about my question Sabres?

;)

I don't know if Rebellion will be smart enough to use the Predalien in any DLC.
At least not to an extent beyond the platform jumping crap they did in the single player campaign. And, I don't think they'd use it with anything other than the Predator, which is sad in my opinion.

I have a feeling we'll have to wait for some inspired user created levels before we see the Predalien vs. a Marine. :banghead

oh cool you could call the Map "Suicide Booth" :D

Hey,
I had a thought about the Preds. The theory came to me while watching Walking with Dinosaurs and Beasts. What if the Predators where hunting on earth millions of years ago, before man. That would explain the wierd looking skulls in their collection. Also it's a popular theory that a comet hitting earth provided the blueprint for life. This could be suggested that the Predators caused the comet to crash into earth, basically seeding earth, with dinosaurs, sabretooth tigers and then man. Just like the Aliens are seeded.

Anyway just a theory.

Cheers.

A good theory but here is mine, Predators have set up a base/post on Earth during the late cretatious period. The indigenous Dinosaur population makes fair game but is becoming tiresome. The Preds decide to up the stakes and shuttle down a queen to harvest eggs from. the Preds then move the eggs into the area around the base and let them sit in wait for hosts. A couple of days later all hell breaks lose as large Xeno spawned from larger carnivores attacks the post and free the Queen and retreat into the woods near by.

A month or so later, predators investigate the base after not receiving transmissions for a while. Upon arrival the notice that alot of the land mass is covered in Hive webbing, even before the shuttle has landed they are set upon by winged Xeno's spawned from Terrordactyls. They Hunters fend them off and land in the rolling plains of bones, blood and Alien eggs. There are hundreds of Alien eggs surrounding the shuttle, the hunters decide to retreat back onto the pod and call for a larger hunting party but it was to late. From bug holes in the ground came horned Xeno's and knocked the shuttle on it's side. The Hunters circle up and ready their weapons, it is hopeless as every Xeno from a square mile converges on them.

With the last Hunter left he jumps into the pod and seals the door, it is recked and cannot lift off, however he manages to send a distress call back to Predator base on the home world. The transmission is sent just as the pod is pulled under into the network of bug holes and ultimately to his death.

Not long after the Preds monitor the planet from space and decide a tactical nuclear strike is needed to purify the planet once more. The Preds calculate the maximum damage zone and launch the device.

Years later they return to find a new race of bi-peds is now dominant and the hunt is once again on :horror

I would watch that in a heartbeat Skynet! But a question, how would a facehugger latch onto a t-rex? Would they be extra large ones?
