well let's hope it wont come to this... right now I really am only hoping for:
1) it will eventually stop leaking and it is not from the rubber itself and hence wont deteriorate the material over time
2) get replacements with better material
I kinda want the latter as my printed pattern is starting to fade and I would like to cut up my batsuit

Lets keep our fingers crossed that HT comes up with a solution or replacements. I'd have a hard time believing they won't considering how widespread this is.

I'm more confident this issue will be dealt with by HT now that people are actually getting an email stating they're looking into it, until the past day or two when those started going out, there looked like no sign of them looking into it which would also probably mean doing nothing to resolve it. I think they'll make right, but it could take time for them to figure out what's going on and how to stop it, and I definitely want them to take time so they'll be certain it's been taken care of.

Maul, how long have you had yours now and what state is it currently in? I'm assuming you still have it out of the box?...

I got mine on 2/2, it's been laying on my desk for about a week now it was last Thursday or Friday morning when I noticed the paint wearing away on it and gave up on doing anything to remove the residue. The abs are the same, no better, no worse, and now I've got mild buildup on his bicep armor plates.

Well that just plain sucks. I knew I should have held off. Mines leaked but hasn't changed much since Monday. Its cold in this room so I assume it will either get worse come spring/summer or just simply get worse regardless.

Amazing figure but still a let down.

Oh yeah and same for me but its just odd when it gets to the point that you have to sacrifice the paint finish to wipe away only God knows what. I still need to pose mine, I took him out of the box and displayed him literally the way he sat. He looks like a frigin gimp right now

Well, I've already reached out to Eric at Toys2 about it, so now it's just the wait and see what happens with him and with Hot Toys. I'm sure either just getting refunded and no figure or getting a figure that's intact will happen, just hoping for the latter.

The more I read about the oil, the more it pisses me off, and I don't even have the figure. I feel for you people that have the oil problems

I dunno..... I have two leaking bats but I enjoy them so much that I am not bothered by it yet as I still beleive it will be taken care of one way or another so why get upset. Being upset does not change a single thing except that you loose joy in it. Now if you didn't buy it yet then again if this is really something that would bother you then I would say don't buy it yet and wait for a solution to surface first and when it does you can still enjoy it. In the end how happy you are is in your control and there is always a positive and negative angle and since nothing ever is perfect it's your choice what state you want to be in or what state you want to put yourself into. You just have to conciousely make that choice

The reason it makes me angry is that the oil wasn't just like....oh, there's oil, 2 days later it's gone after wiping it

This is something that KEEPS COMING BACK

It's like the thing has a stomach in the body, filled with oil!

*sigh* the other reason it makes me mad is that this second batch was supposed to be fixed...

It'll be interesting to see what happens to people like Snake Eater and such the really early collectors, or Maul for that matter. If they get back with word on this next week or the start of next month thats the 30 days up.

Snake would have had his for close to or if not by then, 2 months or just passed.

The problems found with the first batch were fixed. People reported flaking paint and warping heads, both were addressed by Hot Toys, the oil issue crept up after all that and wasn't reported while they were fixing the other problems.

And I wonder why not? Did it not happen at all during the initial release in Hong Kong?

This doesn't seem like something those obsessive types on the HK forums would overlook.

It's been so long, I believe crow was the first to spot it. It seemed like it was isolated at first before all of us started getting him from Toys 2, we knew to check for it when we got the figures, but it wasn't until so many were getting it from Toys2 and having the issue that it became really apparent it was a mass problem. Crow got one from the HK release so it's not isolated to the figures that went out to places like Toys2.
