I'm a bit concerned the price they will be asking for Kaneda & his bike will be well out of reach (for me) after seeing this one's price tag...

Part of its ridiculous price tag is due to Toys McCoy. I think Medicom's usual releases won't cost this much.

well medicom has always been at the forefront of overpriced products. the only way to stop this is to stop supporting their products. this isn't even all that well-made. it's a very cool design for sure, but it looks like a plasticky toy. pure and simple. boycott medicom til they learn to be reasonable.

This figure and pricing has nothing to do with Medicom. They got involved late in the game. Im guessing they are just helping with distribution and/or manufacturing.

The design and pricing was well established a long time ago when it was just a Toys McCoy project.

Lets not use this as another excuse to bash on Medicom.

ok, i stand corrected about this figure then.

but i still stand by my sentiments about medicom's pricing in general.

their stuff is way overpriced and not even very well-made sometimes. case in point was their tdk joker. what a horrible figure, with a laughably bad costume. they do make some good stuff as well, but they are simply not realistically priced, imo.

i'm not a medicom basher. i have no ill-will towards the company. but what i state is just an observation. and i don't think it's inaccurate or biased.

Folks,

I got one. Ordered it from Hobby Link Japan...and it arrived near the beginning of December. In a word...STUNNING. It's hard to describe the quality of the piece. If anyone wants me to post pics...or comparison shots with the Triple A Luner Defence Robot, I'm happy to do so.

Please do, I would love to see more pictures of this awesome piece.

Thanks :D

Yeah lets see photos of this thing.

As cool as it is I'll stick to the smaller end Ma.K's, the price on that 1/6 is just outrageous.

please do post pics. i know many people want this figure and i think medicom/toys mccoy could have sold more than twice as many at a $599 price point than they have at $1200. however, i am jealous of anyone that has one! :)

Any pics from board members??
I found this cutsomized one on another board.. Pretty brave to custom a $1200+ fig!

Guess they were going for an ironic deco... looks cool. But this is one of those items that I just can't wrap my brain around the price tag.

well, from what I understand there are no reused parts anywhere on this piece. So everything is brand new parts build just for this set. So the price is probably a reflection of R & D, manufacturing and distribution costs all crammed in. Though I do wonder what their profit margin is on this?
