I must say that as excited I was for the DX batman and DX joker I am even more excited for this T2 line.

Completely the same bud.

This figure literally looks perfect to me. Don't think I have ever seen a HT figure look so good and I have not a single complaint.

My opinion on the figure

I'm not sure why they would announce multiple versions + a DX already. Seems like they'd be hurting their sales. I know if it's confirmed we get a DX already I'll be passing on this one no matter how awesome it is.

I think the DX will include the partially damaged and damaged heads. 2 types of jacket- partially damaged and fully damaged. Normal arm and totally damaged torn to pieces arm. It might include the minigun but I expect it will include the bandolier and m-79 weapon. Of course it will probably also include the black t-shirt this figure seems to be missing :lol

Its a must buy for me anyway as I'm definately getting the pristine T800 too.

Awesome. Mention of a DX already!! :(

If the battle damaged version turns out to be a DX, I think chances are good that he will come with multiple interchangeble parts: two left arms (one complete, one ripped off) with two matching jackets, two heads with different degrees of damage (one post Dyson shootout and one post steelmill fight), and a huge load of weapons (grenade launcher, minigun, M4 etc). Maybe even two chests, one normal and one shot open, although that could be achieved with two shirts, one to reveal the damage (sculpted to the body), and one untorn shirt to simply cover it up. Same could be done with the pants.
At least that's how I wish it'll be. :D

edit: :lol I guess great minds think alike, paulcarson.

YEAH, here's hoping !

My only worry would be that this is more than likely the proto head and not the factory head we will get :(

If thats what the DX I'd buy both this version and the End Battle!

Its all in Chinese (type of Chinese I assume) but if you scroll down there is mention of a T-1000, Sarah, BD T-800 and DX.

I'm not drinking the coolaid until I can read this for myself. Seems really odd to announce a DX at the beginning of a line.

If there is confirmation that HT will do a T2 Arnie DX then that's the one I'll wait for. It would have to be the completely armed Cyberdyne T-800 with options to make him completely battle damaged (including removable forearm as we've seen with an insert stump with wires and stuff), appropriately tattered jacket, light up eyes (maybe even PERS in the second sculpt, etc, all the stuff others here have said.

But doesn't it make more sense to make a V2 Cyberdyne Arnie and then a V3 fully BD version and sell them each for $150-170, rather than one DX for $199?

To help sell a thrid BD Arnie, I might even think after the Ironman test flight suit with that robot and the hydrobot that they might include a 1/6th winch chain for BD Arnie to hang from or some other larger extra.

I wouldn't worry about a DX obsoleting this figure, in fact, I have a theory that it'll necessitate this one even more.

My guess is, if they only do one more T-800 and DX it, it'll be a combo pack to build two core BD looks plus Cyberdyne.

Here's my vision of what would be in the DX set.

- 2 BD heads, like photo 2 and 3 below

T2_10.jpg

- Clean Gloved Hands (1 pair)
- BD Gloved Hands (1 pair)
- Leather Pants with Torn Knee
- Leather Jacket with Bullet Holes
- BD Leather Jacket with Torn Left Arm
- Extra Endo Elbow-Arm Attachment with Broken Endo Arm Bits
- Grenade Launcher
- Mini gun with Ammo Bag
- Smoke Grenade Launcher
- 1 figure body

Doubt they'd go far enough as to make the clean and broken stock grenade launchers so that'd be custom work. I figure all that gives you his Cyberdyne gear and all BD combinations, but, if they only do one body like Joker, and only 2 BD heads, then to have a more clean, Cyberdyne mini gun shootout figure, you'd need a second of this current figure for the portrait and clothes, so with less actual figures on their end, they still end up selling 3 figures to people who really want all the looks, but only have to do production runs for 2.

Good points Maul, but I was merely worrying about my poor wallet. :D

This is already one HT figure I would NEVER sell, regardless of a DX. All figures in this line are already a must purchase. Just hope we get little John Connor, but I doubt it.

I would sell all of my Jokers before selling this.

:lol

Do you really want a DX already?

I'd prefer to have several separate incarnations. Maybe this is HT's way of doing that. Maybe Maulfan is correct. Makes sense.

They're just thinking or planning right to the end of the license. So I assume the DX will come out at like the end of 2010 and hopefully include what Maulfan said. Makes sense to me too. There is no way the DX will have any relation to either of their first one or two T-800 releases.

I hear ya, this is tops my do not part with list, and must get list. Too bad the figure it makes easy to part with won't sell for anything now. Everything I ever want to part with isn't worth squat :lol

Also, I said it before and i'll say it again. When it comes to this license Hot Toys can release 10-12 versions of just Arnold, slap me in the face with a leather glove and i'd still say thank you. :D

Agreed, if the DX, I see it as happening because they feel putting a lot into one package is more worth their while than a little into a couple, not that they'll improve upon any pre-existing piece.

Could be DX T-1000 too, throw in both Biker and patrolman costumes, clean head, eye shot head, split head, hook arms, and walla, T-1000 wrapped up in one set plus ordering a spare TT to wear the extra gear.

If handled right, this "line" could be the first demonstration of properly using and mixing MMS with MMSDX like we all hoped and expected when the DX line started and HT's yet to demonstrate.
