So here's the deal for Belgian collectors: a breakdown for the SSE Creature which I received on Nov. 24. Not sure whether this falls under SSC's new shipping policy, but as a matter of fact, I received the item straight from the US warehouse, and it was delivered by FedEx.

FedEx handling fee: $14.56 (10 €)

Just a note: This item was shipped well before the new shipping rates were put into effect (December 9th/10th was the official launch of new international shipping rates).

Also, there was no added duty fees added onto this... the FedEx fee is their 'advancement fee', which means they pay the VAT on your item as soon as it arrives and they handle all the customs paperwork, etc.

Sideshow Store Exclusive Editions
The introduction of the Sideshow Store Exclusive Editions isn't helping much either. I've asked a couple of times on your site about European retailers who would carry these products, and there was a big silence. If we have to import these products from US retailers also, the result will more or less be the same as what we are having with SSC now: extra taxes and handling fees.

As far as I know, the Store Exclusives will be imported internationally, to all of our current international distributors (who, in turn, sell to the local retail shops). I would try calling your local Sideshow retailer and inquiring directly with them to see if they have chosen to participate in this program. Or, if you don't know your local Sideshow retailer, you can try calling your nearest distributor...I'm not sure which would be nearest to Belgium, but you can try the French ones, perhaps: https://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4491#FR

Yeah ive bought many times from them,if the items instock you'll normally recieve within 24 hours,and delivery is Free in the UK on all items,they even have the odd exclusive,the T2 Arnie PF ex being the last one i saw

Was this a pre-ordered item? That figure is currently sold out on our site, is the only reason I'm asking. If it was an item that you had pre-ordered, it is most likely still shipping from the EU warehouse, which had higher shipping rates in effect. (the transition out of the EU warehouse will not be complete until January) Also, when did the order ship?

I stopped using Sideshow directly, ages ago. The shipping to the U.K has always been a joke. Why pay crazy money when i can wait a little longer and use Play.com?
I used to rely on SS for the exclusives but there's more chance of me landing Scarlett Johansson. Its a damn shame coz they must be losing revenue through their international shipping policies ...

I don't think SideShow would know every country tax/VAT/Customs price and break it down for you,can you imagine the list.Plus they change constantly.

Hm, did you specifically tell them that they are plastic/polystone items, originating from China? Most of the EU does not charge duty on those types of items. In most cases, duty applies for metal replicas, original works of art, etc. (but of course, some countries may have varying customs laws, unfortunately )
