Sweet. I appear to be next. Spenser, can you please just remember to include that Alfred head we talked about? Thanks, man. Looking forward to getting these awesome sculpts, esp. since my Mattel Ray is coming tomorrow.

I have your Alfred all painted up and ready to ship with the GB guys.

So I have a set of Spenser's GB heads ordered (just got my Matty Ray today too), but am I the only one who would love a Ray head with the iconic dangling cigarette and surprised expression?

Someone else at the other GB head thread, made the spot on remark that the Akroyd scuplts are outstanding in term of likeness but could use a bit of the boyish/goofy charm which defined Ray's character.

So just floating the idea to Spenser of a second Ray with a non-neutral expression.

The dangling cigarette crossed my mind a few months ago, and I thought about it just the other day, so I might do that. That is one of my favorite parts.

I know you can’t make everyone happy but I will say my GB sculpts weren’t intended to be “generic” these where “Make ’em hard” (actual line from the movie) going after Gozer looks. Most of the guys I talked before the clay flew said that was the way they where displaying them wands out ready to throw it so that what I went for.

I’ve heard the “boyish/goofy charm” thing for Ray floating around and I can just say he never had that look when he was throwing it. Talking with the guys about ghosts or the fire house, yes he had that boyish enthusiasm, even when he had the trap talking about the real nasty free floating repeating phantasm he had it then. But that look wasn’t the general conscious at the time of sculpting, in fact this did come up and a more determined look was the direction I was hearing at the time.

This post isn’t a slam towards anyone, people want what they want and I wish I could give it to them but like I said I can’t make everyone happy, all I saw was that Howes screwed up and the disappointment that resulted, so I stepped in and did it. I really never had any intention of sculpting the Ghost Busters at all.

Also I have no problem with anyone who wants to compare my work with anyone else’s, (“ I have no ego to bruise”- Mr. Spock) I’ve already sculpted four new heads, a set of armor, modified several sculpts and worked on three very, very BIG mind blowing projects. I don’t have time to get worried about who likes what. If you like it, great if you don’t, that’s ok too.

I will say this is a proponent of why we have so many of the same subjects getting sculpted. Isn’t better to have three or more heads to choose from than just one?

well said spenser. and if u do decide to go for a more shocked/playish look ray do keep us informed.

i do get alot of ppl would prob display him in action pose tho so the expression u picked def fits that.

Hey man, just keep doing what you're doing. And if someone else wants to step up and do a dangling cigarette Ray, well awesome. But I think you've got your thumb on the pulse just fine.

I'm thrilled with your sculpts Spenser! :D They look MUCH better than Chris Howes' sculpts. These are THE Ghostbusters head sculpts I have been waiting for since first seeing the classic movie in 1984!

Yeah, some alternate heads would be great, but not necessary. I think somewhere down the road if you want to make them some alternate heads for the guys, if you have the time, and want to make them...it would be great. :D

agreed, as long as we now have the 4original busters frm their look in the 1st movie then im happy, but yeah alternate versions would be cool aswel at some point, i.e. goofy ray like ppl have said and gb2 winston.

other than that, im jst holding onto hope that you decide to do a david lostboys, the frog bros and a set of a team sculpts! lol

Yeah... Lets get this set first... And when Mattel decides to give us 4 more GBs in a GB2 suit we will have to look for more heads but now I even dont want anymore heads as I do not have a body.

Nevertheless I would really love to see a Ray (goofy), Peter (slimed) Winston (GB2) and even more importan Luis ( :rock ) one day...

Spenser, I think you did a mighty fine job on these sculpts. Sure, everyone has a different idea of what they'd like expression-wise for their figure, but I dig your work.

Shoot, a couple years back, all I had to use at the time for my custom was this Elwood head:

And now I do!!! PM on da way!

thanks guys. all that hard work finally paid off. but now i wanna switch them all to narrow shouldered truetypes which didn't exist when i started these. got to save up some cash first.

Outstanding, Craw!

Dammit Craw!! Now you made me realize just how much I should have sprung for the painted versions! :lol

Seriously though...very glad to see you got your set completed! I know you were discouraged for awhile, but your perseverence paid off!

What Chris Howes sculpt? :lol We've been waiting since January being promised for the last 10 months that Ray/Dan Akroyd was "almost done" and haven't seen one picture.
