Dang. I was really looking forward to this. Universal are really creating their own negative buzz on this movie.

I wonder if the Mezco figures will be pushed back as well?

I Wonder the same thing, I bought the 12 inch figure with Sideshow points.

I was going to but I want to be able to hand pick the one I want, specifically the bloody version. Pre-ordering won't allow me to do that. I figure these will be at Hot Topic and Spencer's.

That's exactly my reaction too. I'm beginning to wonder just how "true" to the original this remake is really going to be. Between this news, and some of the screening reports I've read that describe extreme gore and graphic, brutal violence in the film, it is sounding less and less like a Wolf Man remake/homage, and more like a typical slasher/gorefest (which is not my cup of tea).

I don't mind more violence and gore, it is a character who attacks with razor sharp claws and teeth to eat people. But keeping true to the original make-up design and keeping him on two legs is a must.

Well, as I said, it isn't my cup of tea. I don't see that it adds to the story. In the original they managed to convey Talbot's torment over his curse without the need for gratuitous gore. And to me, that is what the story is about.

And the original was restrained by a content code. While blood and guts doesn't add to the story it does add to the impact. It is a monster movie and monster movies are at the heart about violent acts against others.

And once again I am forced to repeat, it isn't my cup of tea. You may find that it adds to the impact. I do not. You may need to see visually excessively graphic violence to instill fear. I prefer the unseen, imagined fear. And that, to me, is the heart of monster movies.

The one obvious exception to that rule for me is zombie movies. ;)

These are my thoughts also, Somehow I do not think Lon Chaney Jr. would like this. I wonder what Ron Chaney has to say about all of this.

Too me, What matters most for this film is, To honor what the Chaney Family would want. IMO, Universal should talk things over with them before the film is put out.

I still have a difficult time believing the figure will be released 6 months before the movie. I keep waiting for a change in release date for the 12" figure.

Wolfman on all fours that really suck. Leave it up to Universal to screw things up. I now have given up on them first the Wolfman movie changes, then the sucky CFBL Stage show and now they are screwing up the Moebius Frankenstein Model kit.

I agree with you, but Universal has been engaging in revisionism for many of their monsters.

Let's face it, none of the 3 (latest) Mummy movies had too much to do with the original. As somebody else mentioned, the new Creature show isn't an homage.

Sounds like the suits are saying, "OK, let's start with the name Wolfman (or Mummy, or Creature), and then take it in the direction that we think will make the most money." If they are right, it'll be good for their careers and the stockholders, bad for those of us that prefer the original storylines and style.

I'm surprised nobody posted it yet!!
Looks great!! :rock:rock
