Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

So I bought an Aoshima Terminator like five plus years ago. It was my first 1/6 figure and I thought it was pretty cool being 90% diecast but how could a toy company make a Terminator without light up eyes? Well after a few months of having him on the shelf I thought I could put some LED's in the skull.

Well I popped the head off and started drilling the eyes with my dremel. Jammed some LED's in and wired him up only to not understand LED's and power supply. The eyes worked and I had to figure how to get this tiny 12V battery in his chest and figure how and where to place the on/off switch.

Well I quickly found out I was in over my head and gave up on the idea.

Flash forward to about six months ago and while looking at the figure I see there is a little screw under the chin. A little shocked I never tried taking it out before, I tried it.
I see the skull comes apart in three pieces and the wheels start turning again.

At this point I have done some work with LED's and have a better understanding of power supply and resistors. Pulled out the old LED's and thick wire I had going to them, put brand new LED's and a thiner wire. I was happy with the wire coming out of the sides of the skull like the cables on the real endo but wished they were like the metal spring tubing going to the shoulders.

I figured I could use the spring tubing from the endo and find something to replace the ones going to the shoulders. Someone on the board suggested bass strings. I picked some and although they looked right, they were stiff and I wasnt sure how I was going to connect them. I decided to keep looking for the spring tubing. After looking all over never really knowing what to call this part, I found a store in japan that sold them.

I CAN FINISH HIM!!

I start putting him back together and Im so close to being done and his right leg falls off at the hip. so I had to fix that with a screw but what a pain to put the inner hip spring and rachet parts back.. (If you dont have to, I would never open this part up on your figure)

I painted him up with a black wash, splatter of mud brown, Blast marks and one thing I thought a real combat Terminator needs... RESISTANCE BLOOD!

Bravo... the paint alone makes a big difference. I loved the Aoshima, but the wonderful detail of the sculpt was lost in the monotone paint.

oh and thanks to zx7rgirl for taking the pics for me..

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Anyone know where I could buy a 1/6 biker jacket? HT BD T-800 or saturday Toys? I'd prefer eBay...

also would be intrested in a painted T2 head, possibly even the original Sideshow one...

Currently one guy on ebay sells one terminator jacket.
Heres the link. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190323874117&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

It depends on what version you are looking to make.If you go for a T2 the sideshow jacket is the one you want. For T1 saturday and t 800 HT jackets are exactly the same.Only different color in zippers. As for the heads there are a lot of guys making heads but you can find some cheap here.
https://www.h2creative.com/HeroHeads.html unpainted though

Thanks. Trying to find one for ages.
Seems like there are others intrested in it too. Price could go too high for me :(
I have the Sideshow jacket and I dont like how it fits... So I'm looking for HT or saturday toys.

As for the head I'm looking for a painted one. As I said even the original Sideshow one would do. Allready tryed getting a Darren Carnall custom head, but he didnt have one at the moment... Dont really like the HeroHeads (no offense) I'm looking for something different.

Started a WTB thread if anyone has anything to offer me:

Have a WTB list too and many people are looking so get n the line:monkey1.i am planning to get a sideshow t 800 if do i will have a custom head so i will offer you the stock one.Just the saturday and HT jackets are not T2 jackets. If you dont want the T2 jacket i want one if you are willing to sell it.Also you could use HT marlon brandos 1953 jacket. It is very similar to the HT and saturday jackets
