I've touched the Toht.

Cons:
The collars don't lay flat because the elastic used on the tie is too tight. Also, the Pro they used is cadaver gray (it must be from one of The Dead figures) and doesn't match the head and hands (which make him look like he came back from the tanning salon). His sculpt is soft and does have a Hasbro feel which someone mentioned earlier. The glasses look a little "toy like".

Pros: I love the accessories. I love the fact that I don't feel the need to constantly futz with him. The tailoring is very nice. The Pro is tight (though pale). I may find better glasses for him down the road but other than that, he looks great! Hey! It's a 1/6 Toht, be happy!

Gray body? Is that the case with all? I never noticed that.

EDIT: I just checked some pics I saved from this thread and the body is NOT gray on others. It's lighter for sure but certainly not gray. Got pics, bmarz? This is something that may need to be addressed with Sideshow.

Yes, I read that too. Is it really the gray body?

No, it's not really gray, just really pale with gray tones. Like a really sick person. ;) I've compared it to Belloq and Indy and it has less of a pinkish hue than either of those. I've updated my earlier post to reflect this. It only shows on his neck and wrists. Swap out another neck post from a True Type or darker Pro and you're on your way. Still, it looks kind of bad out of the box and makes me wonder "why"?

Oh, and here's "the" Toht in his natural habitat.

I had mentioned this a couple months ago when my standard edition hit. I swapped out the neck joint and wrist joints with some spare Pro parts I had on hand and they matched much better then the ones he shipped with. I was more upset by this then anything and even called and wrote SS to issue a complaint. Kind of unacceptable to have such pink skin tones on the head and hands then such pale tones for the rest. Of course the neck and wrists are all that show.

What did they say when you called them? Did they ever respond to your email?

I can see the color discrepancies bothering me too, so I was considering painting at least the neck to match better.

I spoke with Jennifer Bingham at Sideshow, a cust service rep. This was what I wrote:

Jennifer,
This is just an email follow-up to the conversation we had today. I received my Arnold Toht a couple of weeks ago from Sideshow, in fact living in California I may have been one of the very first to get him. Anyway, both the primary head sculpt and hands have a different, darker, coloration then the Pro body's neck and wrist joints. I've attached a photo for you to reference. (I threw a photo in here)

As you can see the difference is pretty stark. I happened to have a few extra parts and swapped out the neck and wrist joints for darker pieces that come with Indiana Jones. These pieces are a better match then those that were sent with Toht. I love Sideshow's 12" line but with prices rising it's easy to feel a bit cheated when products don’t live up to basic standards as is the case here. You can also take a look at the sideshowcollectors.com forum post #64 from me: https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1673232&postcount=64

It's not the best of pictures but you get the point. I just really hope this doesn’t happen again, and from a selfish point of view I really hope this doesn't happen to a line that I really like such as Indy. Thanks!

Anyway, I never got a reply.

I would grab a new neck and wrist pieces from Toy Anxiety. It doesn't make for a perfect match BUT it's no where near as noticable.

It sucks that they didn't write back, Flosi. I'll have to see what I can do about that once I get Toht.

And still no processing notice for Toht Ex.

I don't understand why you guys haven't gotten your exclusives yet!?! I've had mine more than a week. It must be because I Flex-Paid.

Today's the last day of the 20-25 day notice we got earlier this month. Sideshow's web page still has him shipping in July (again, today's the last day). And there's even a little blurb in the newsletter that there are "very low quantities" and that he's "scheduled to begin shipping to Indy fan's homes very soon". But processing notice yet for me. And how "very low" can the quantities be if they don't even have the little gauge graphic on Toht's web page?

Considering bmarz got his already, Sideshow definitely has them in their warehouse. Maybe they did realize there were too many things coming at the same time and decided to postpone shipping/charging til August. I know the last time I called them (about something else) I inquired about possibly postponing (or Flexpaying or canceling) just my Toht because of everything else in July, but obviously they said they didn't do that. But maybe she mentioned it to the higher-ups.

Dude! What gives? I got mine on the 20th of July! I only know of one other person who received his and he Flex-Paid (like I did). This is just weird.
