I think it's a combination of four things.

1. The helmet does need to sit below the eyebrows
2. It needs to tilt back more, which does help with the overall look IMO,
3. the bell part of the dome needs to have been made longer in general as it is short compared to the head part of the helmet/dome.
4. There needs to be more flare of the dome which is why I did the boiling water method

How did you punch the eye pieces out jkno? are they separate pieces from the mask?

Looks like they a pair of sunglasses about an inch under the helmet....

While I still haven't received a shipping notice for mine yet, I did get to see Vader in person today at a local comic and toy show. He is simply amazing in person! I really had to double check to make sure it was the Sideshow figure because, as so many others have already said, pictures just don't do him justice! I was amazed at how great he looks, he really is a cut above the rest of the line. It looks like a tiny man in a suit, I swear. I was excited to be getting mine soon, but I am doubly excited now...he can't get here soon enough!

Just deconstructed my extra Vader head and yup. The eye pieces are a completely separate piece. Very cool. Sideshow could have easily of cut corners by making the eye pieces part of the face mask and just painted them. But nope. SS =

Are they molded in red or painted?

The back of them looks reddish/black but its not at all glossy like the front... so I am not sure.. I assume its the plastic not paint.

Damn JKNO...i would had atleast saved the shoulder armor for a custom or something, sucks customs over there are Nazi's.

I was able to save a few things: original exclusive box, the stand, the hands that were not already attached to Vader but were in the separate tray of the box (thus I saved the exclusive Force choke hand too) and both lightsabers. Besides those there are a few other items left in 100% condition: belt with belt boxes, chestbox itself, and both shin guards (one has a peg damaged).

FedEx packages (this one was sent with them) are opened up in customs at Otopeni airport Bucharest (500 km from my city). USPS packages and Express Mail packages are opened in my city where there is also a customs office and the packages are opened in front of you. So in Bucharest many things could have happened...

See the picture above with the box packed with that black tape by the FedEx customs in Bucharest. Again, it hasn't been open in front of me, but 500 km away...

Note: "Deschis pentru control vamal la FedEx Romania" means "Opened for customs at FedEx Romania"

Got mine today finally (late to the game for some) But i am pretty impressed. 9.5 outta 10 for me. (camera is dead, i'll get some up later.)

The only thing i don't like is the stand. Won't hold well, Otherwise i love it.

Not in Lucas' eyes, for Lucas, Darth Vader is a name, not a look.

Not just in Lucas' eyes. Anyone who respects the story behind the collectibles should acknowledge that Anakin became Darth Vader before he wore the black armour. That has been a fact since day one. It isn't prequel retrocon, it is a very important point in the saga. It always drives me crazy when Star Wars fans choose to disregard this very important element of Anakin's story.

Helmet with mods. I put it up in the other thread but that seems to have very little traffic. Now I really, REALLY am digging my Vader. He was awesome before, he's magnificent now! IMO, it really makes a difference.

Those were the feelings I had when received the most expected figure: Darth Vader. He looked so great in the pics here and then when opened the package there was a mess... The rise and fall of Darth Vader in a simple gif image.
