Has anyone tried to iron the cape or inner robe? My Vader needs it, but I'm a little scared to do it--the material feels very delicate. I'm curious about the temperature setting, if you actually put the iron to the cape, or if you just blasted it with steam.

Edit: Woo-hoo! post #600! :woo

Do you have the same shelf as King Darkness?

Guilty :lol

They are great for displaying figures, and at around $80 each a great deal.

Just got my Vader at last! Add me to the list of people that are totally satisfied with this figure. All the things I thought would bother me about him like the silver tusk or being to tall are a total non-issue when he is displayed in the detolf. Great job Sideshow!

I actually prefer this over the boiling method. Keeping the hair dryer far enough away and judging by touch when it is soft enough to be pliable is best for this method. Holding the hair dryer right against it and blasting it for a couple of minutes is how you get warped and melted items. The shrinking is highly doubtful given that the science behind the whole method (heat/expansion) says the opposite, unless you're baking it :lol.

Ah my bad then :lol but when i did the boiling water i could reshape it in 20 seconds, but with a hairdryer it wouldn't budge unless roasted, then it warped/shrank.

You may want to try some of that wrinkle releaser spray (not sure of the brand). I have used that on my figures with no ill effects, rather than chancing the iron.

If that doesn't work, or you do feel the need to iron, you can always cover the cape with a towel or handkerchief so that the iron doesn't directly touch the material of the cape. I use this method on my ties and pants for my uniform and it works great.

Got mine today too! He's just as awesome as others have said but holy shinola he's a big boy! I've got him displayed with Bespin Luke and he makes Luke look like a pygmy :monkey1

Hey, did anyone else's Vader ship via FedEx? Just curious, mine did for some reason. All my other figures have shipped UPS. Don't care how they send it really, just as long as he gets here on time and in one piece.

Did the inner robe mod as well. Simplest thing I've ever done. I prefer this look anyway, and if they release any other versions, it'll be a piece of cake to just put it back as before.

Yeah, mine was shipped with FedEx and arrived as you can see in post #2988 :banghead

Those are awesome pics Verbal21 & The Craw. Very iconic poses.

My EXC Vader arrived a while back but he had a huge scuff across one side of his dome. SS is sending me a replacement but I gotta destroy the old one. I hate to do it...

thanks, make sure you post pics after you burn it:naughty I wanna see a defective Vader burn:lol

That's what I'd do if I had to destroy my Vader, I'd set up to replicate the ROTJ funeral pyre, take pictures and everything.
