... and not wanting to waste a headscult, but realizing the SS ANH could never be 100% accurate to the movie prop, I decided to make an extra-pissed ANH Vader head by enlarging the lower eye sockets and putting an exaggerated widow's peak on the Hasbro dome. I think the larger eye sockets make the over-sized grill less noticeable, and fixes the squinty-eyed look of the original sculpt (my main issues with it).

I'm really trying to hold off ordering the new HT R1 Vader, so I continue to futz with my good-ol' modded SS ANH Vader. The base SS ANH body has shortened limbs and torso by TheFiend, inner robe is from the SS Deluxe ESB/ROTJ, outer cape is custom by myself, and he now sports a new HT head on a lengthened/modified neck post:

Based on these images, I say save your money! What you have here looks great. The V.1 SS suit still looks the best to me, followed by SS ROTJ and HT RO.

I think I like the pissed-off big grill look for RO/ANH vader. I'll use the bigger-domed HT head for my SS ROTJ Vader when he arrives. It will suit the bigger body proportions.

I flared out the brows more and reshaped the back skirt on the Hasbro dome. The skirt of the helmet are still a bit too small overall, but the way the face is framed is better than before. Also used a sharpie for some weathering on the chest box and belt, and a tiny bit on the mask.

I think youcould try to lower a bit the helmet on the back and lift it a bit on the front.

Impressive...I've always found something of attractive in the anh sideshow mask (helmet is totally off and out of scale). I think that you are getting out the potential like I've nevervseen before. Hope to see more....

He's still 75% SS ANH (rocking his original body, suit, codpiece, belt, boots, armor, gloves, and hilt), so I'll keep posting here. Dry brushed some gunmetal on the armor, lowered the HT dome even more, and added RO cape.

I swear, ANH Vader is so frustrating to get looking right. Dicking around with the tunic alone is enough to drive a man mad.

Thank you! I'll probably continue to mess with it, since I'm not happy with the shoulder slope around the neck. My wife thinks I've lost my mind.

I tried out a Rogue One inspired pose (I know, the saber and fist should actually be on opposite sides, but that's why it's "inspired by"). Pretty happy with the results. Still wish I could afford a hot toys R1 Vader, but since I can't I'll be happy with what I've got. The pics definitely show the limitations of the helmet (I've lowered the dome and tried to widen the flare, but otherwise this is all stock). It's funny, in person it generally looks better because you're seeing it with two eyes, but if you close one eye, it suddenly looks exactly like it does in photos and all the innacuracues of the shape become immediately apparent. Guess I'll keep both eyes open, haha.

Yup, lowering and flaring our the dome makes a huge difference on SS ANH.

I still think SS took a step back in the mask sculpt with the Deluxe/ROTJ Vader. Also, IMO SS ANH Vader still has the best undersuit of any 1/6 Vader made to this day.

Can you share how you lengthened/modified the neck post to get the HT head to fit the og Vader
