Hot Toys Batman DX teaser pic...AT LAST!!!

I'm not basing anything off the blurred photo, everyone had low expectations based of the first blurred shot of Joker and while there were small details to correct, the overall wowed everyone. Until we get clear shots and several angles, I'm not formulating anything about this figure until after that, other than great accessory work and better head/neck proportions with the body, which are clear from the back shot.

I find it hilarious that people can be so judgmental from one blurry pic. I gurantee you'll be changing your rhetoric like Barrack Obama when official hi-rez pics of this bad boy are released. This is going to be THE Dark Knight.

Yeah, I mean it's possible he may have issues and not be so improved, but I'd like to think for the effort they've likely put into it, they'd understand how better Medicom came in body proportions that HT would at least match to that, if not better it.

HT's first TDK Batman really changes appearance with lighting, so one photo isn't enough to judge the appearance of this one either I'm sure. I can take photos of the first figure that'll make the chest and everything look damn near perfect like the movie, but I know for a fact the figure is not.

Just say for arguments sake, imagine this would be a real stinker... an accurate sculpt but with a chunky body.

To be honest this appears too quick for this to be built.

If a new thinner body was made, the rubber suit would have had to been remade, newer chest armour etc but again it's just speculation. Though that blurry picture isn't very convincing this has been done.

Is there a square clip missing from his belt? it definitely looks like it's missing to me... unless they too have been implementing magnets into the belt.

We've all been pretty much assuming that changes would be made to the body proportions. It seemed to us like 'why bother' releasing another Batman if they weren't going to make these needed alterations to make him slimmer. Medicom's prototype with the slimmer build had been photographed and seen aaaaaages before that figure officially came out (which we all know was only a month or 2 ago) - it was hard to conceive that Hot Toys hadn't seen it and recognised that their's was a little on the fat side, that Medicom's was more accurate and thus that a further Hot toys Batman would have to compete with it.

So it never entered my head the possibility that Hot toys would not make any changes to the proportions. I'll still be surprised if it turns out that they in fact haven't, despite what you say about the seemingly small amount of time in which to come up with a slimmer body and to redo the suit. But yeah, if the DX batman has the same tank-like build of the first figure I don't think I'll bother, might get the Medicom after-all. Of course, we've only seen 2 vague pictures so far and even then only of Batman. What of Bruce Wayne or whatever extra there is.

He does look pretty chunky. His *boobs* look quite small but his stomach still has that awful square feeling about it - hard to describe.

perhaps the reason the picture from behind of his back is the best picture is because a picture form the front would look rubbish lol .. hence the blur

Which to me indicates that the head in the back shot is either not a PERS head or they've really figured out how to hide the opening because I see no seamline to indicate a PERS access, unless they photoshopped the seam out to keep the tease from giving away that he features it.

i hope that they release it next year..

I'm guessing this thing isn't shipping until December at the earliest.

It's the sticky bomb gun, it breaks down into 2 pieces and collapses on itself for easy storage on his belt in fighting. You see him take the 2 pieces off and assemble it on the Hong Kong rooftop.

I am thinking they are either separate heads, the backshot one being sonar possibly, or the head splits in half, OR perhaps the PERS controlled from the head joint opening?

Q1 at the earliest I reckon.

Until we see what is packed in with this figure, I'd say late Q4 2009, early Q1 2010 is the best we can hope for on shipping, but if the items in the set aren't too complex, then perhaps Q4 sometime could be likely.

I just hope it doesn't end up like him packed with the pod, that'd cost too much to bite if I like the figure.
