How about in the third one...we learn that the real G1 Autobots crash land on earth and kill off the Bayformers and explain to Sam that it was all Michael Bay's fault then, the evil Decepticons meet their inferior Bay verisons and kill them off as well...would make a awesome reboot lol.

They had announced that Transformers 3 was coming 2011, but then bay was saying he hadn't agreed to that and wanted to take some time off from transformers and do a different project before doing the next one.

Right... so they pushed it off by a year, I think. He just wants to take a break and do something else between then.

For better or worse, ROTF is 100% Bay. I couldn't imagine a 3rd one by someone else.

Yeah at first I read that too, about taking a break, but after that I also read that he has said that he doesn't want to make big action films anymore because he doesn't get the credit he deserves. Because making such films with huge choreographed explosions, action scenes and everything is a lot harder than people seem to think...

He only wanted to concentrate on smaller projects from now on...

Now, I still can't find the article. I know the site where I read it but it seems gone... Maybe it was false, I don't know, but I'm sure I read it...

:lol If that's true, he deserves all the criticism he gets and then some.

I just got in from seeing it on Imax and it was pretty good and funny.
I know alot of people wanted another dark knight but it was action movie a good old Summer blockbuster....hell it could been worse like spiderman 3 or Indiana jones 4 witch were both let downs.

I dont think you get why we rated it a 10/10. We...or atleast I know that it ISNT a good movie. Its got a ^^^^ story, with a weird pace, and its way too long.

But you know what? It was fun. It had everything I wanted. Explosions, robots, Megan Fox, and more explosions.

I rate movies on how enjoyible or entertaining they are to me.

Flawed.

So in your case since you rated TF2 10/10, the movie couldn't possibly have been any more enjoyable to you? Not even if the movie was actually 'good', story was not ^^^^, the pacing was up to par, and the editing was on point?

Fanboys should just not even bother to rate or review anything. there is just no objectivity.

I take offense to that. I expect that I will probably like RotF when I go see it tomorrow, but I do expect it to fail hard as a movie and not get a rating better than 5/10. I also hope that someone else will take over with TF3; it would be nice to have Spielberg actually direct the next one.

Sorry Nash is dead on the money... Objectivity is everything to a good review or debate...

Just for those comments, I heart you Nash! - See that? My arguement has become flawed because I've just render myself 'subjective' to Nash... :lol

Star Wars movies

Star Trek ('09)

Jurassic Park

Spider-Man 1 & 2

Forrst Gump

Pirates Of The Caribbean

Iron Man

Other summer flicks I'd like to add:

The Abyss
Alien
ALIENS
Back to the Future
Batman (1989)
Batman Begins
Contact
The Dark Knight
Die Hard
Die Hard 2
E.T.
The Fugitive
Ghostbusters
Gremlins
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Jaws
The Lion King
Men in Black
Mission: Impossible
Poltergeist
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Sixth Sense
Terminator 2
Total Recall
War of the Worlds (2005)
X-Men 2

I enjoyed all of the above...some more than others (obviously). All of them required varying degrees of intelligence on some level. None required me to completely turn off my brain. Why would I want to do that? :)

I really liked Transformers 2. I didn't go in with any expectations about the film. I did think it was a little drawn out and some of the scenes could have been saved for the extended version on DVD. I thought it was funny and there was plenty of action. I am glad they didn't have the robots doing flips like the first movie. I liked how they slowed some of the fight scenes down so you could see the action and distinguish between them. The language was a little harsh for some of the kids in the theatre but my son is ten and I am sure he heard all that at school so that didn't bother me. I felt some of the robots really got to show their personalities in this film. There is a big debate about the twins and all I have to say about that is I didn't take offense to anything they did or said. The voice actors were given freedom to do what they wanted and they did a good job. Yeah the twins were corny but they weren't irritating like JarJar was because he was unbearable.
Whoever the animation director was must have really been into mixed martial arts because this movie was like giant robot ultimate fighting. :lol

I heard the critics panned it. They said it sucked. I have no interest in seeing that movie.

The critics can get squashed by Devastators balls for all i care..the movie was still good for what it was and i enjoyed it way more then Terminator Salvation.

I have to agree. Most professional critics can't rate a movie accurately anymore. They look at movies in black and white. Transformers 2 is in the gray. It's not meant to have a strong plot and it's not meant to be taken serious. It's a movie to go see, have some laughs, enjoy the action so you can escape for a while. Critics can't see that anymore. They are to busy analyzing the movie to actually sit back and enjoy it.
I equate it to doing a book report as a kid. You get these questions you need to answer and as you read the book you are so busy looking for the answers that you miss the whole story. Then 10 or 15 years later you pick that same book up and read it and your like "I don't remember this book being this good before". It's the same concept for movie critics IMO.

I was hoping to see Jetfire given a new body. At the end on the carrier having somehow him transform into a new position. It'd be the only way to see a Robotech Valkyre on screen.
No. The Robotech movie is still under development.

...Oh and I didn't need to see Torturo's "(sp?) ass either hahahaha
I thought he was far more annoying in the first movie. At least this time he had a real purpose.

Just as the 10/10 and 5 stars it's been getting from the fanboys denotes there is NOTHING at all wrong with it, right?
Dude, you really need to get the ^^^^ over it. Don't you have G.I. JOE to go slam or something? I think you're just pissed that even as bad as you think this is, it's still gonna be way better than that piece of crap! :lol

Fine. But also understand that Peter Travers is a professional film critic who rates his movie reviews based on artistic merit and quality, not how much fun they are when you shut your brain off.
^^^^ Peter Travers.

And are you serious? You expect someone to judge this on 'artistic merit'? :lol This isn't ^^^^in' Pride & Prejudice or Shakespeare in love, it's a giant robot movie.

Well thats his problem. He shouldnt be looking for ^^^^ing "artistic merit" in a goddamn Michael Bay film! :lol
I guess you never liked Transformers if a movie "^^^^ed up" Transformers for you.
Amen!! :clap

Well said man, I've been saying the same thing, these people have forgotten how to just let go and enjoy a movie. They obviously have no 'Kid at heart' left in them.

Damn that was an epic multi-quote post! :lol

Don't take it personally, dude. I like the first one but I just think ROTF is a big, incoherent lumbering mess. Some will give it 10/10 and others 0/10. I'm right in the middle (5.5/10). But that's my opinion on the film itself. I'm not gonna personally fault any fans for enjoying it. :duff

And, I agree... there is no doubt that TRANSFORMERS will be better than the G.I. JOE movie, which very well may end up being the worst big Summer movie since BATMAN & ROBIN. :yuck

I guess I'm the Bizarro TF fan - I didn't care for the first one but enjoyed the hell out of this. Even at the ridiculous length I felt entertained throughout.
Also gets a +1 for having the closest thing to an actual terminator you'll see onscreen this summer.
Everybody has their personal line for what they decide to judge as "popcorn" and what they get out their spectacles and red pen for.
To the "racism" - there is none. Broad generalizations are constantly being used to get the audience to identify character types. The twins are not any different than Will Smith and Martin Lawrence spouting the same tough guy gangsta-isms in Bad Boys. Arguably they should be even more offensive because those guys actually are black.
Bottom line is people do talk like that. There's no negative cannotation to it. The "we don't read much" line is in reference to an ancient language that's unreadable to almost everyone.
This isn't any more racist than ninja turtles using surfer lingo.

Re: comparing TF2 to classic good summer 'popcorn' movies, there's not even a need for that

Just compare it to Transformers (1). Revenge of the Fallen wasn't nearly as good. I heard lots of people saying they liked the first one better coming out of the theater. I believe that's going to be said across cinemas a helluva lot this coming week.

On a pass/fail- that's a fail.

I went into it completely expecting this to at least be on par, if not much better; it certainly isn't. (it's the same expectation I have for Iron Man 2)
