Is this a clue to the HT Joker in Police Uniform?

Sure they are can you tell me who else has a 1/6 scale TDK license. Medicom is still huge in HK hense competition to HT's.

Yeah, but I think the markets are differnt. Not saying anything negative about Medicom, but undeniably their figure style and Hot Toys are quite different, so competition, just because they're in the same domestic market, may not be the same. I'd figure they're probably equal in price.

To me, Hot Toys is the better product because they take a more realistic approach to their figures, Medicom is more stylistic, so when it comes to buying, I don't compare, I go with Hot Toys because they make what I like. I imagine overseas it's the same, people buy Medicom or Hot Toys when they have the same license based on the style they like.

I don't think Hot Toys feels like Medicom will take their business away on a quality basis and the need to go toe to toe with Medicom in figure choices. If someone passes on HT for Medicom it's likely a style choice and Hot Toys doesn't want to work in Medicom style so I'm sure they're fine with not getting that business, they've got plenty of support for their style.

I think it has to be some kind of joker. That's where the sales are. If two face didn't fly off shelves, what hope can any other non-joker figure have?

Well, since it says "The Joker" on it I presume it is a Joker fig, but it is crime evidence so it could also be hinting at a Gordon. I know the Oldman likeness wasn't included in the DK license, but for all we know Hot Toys could have somehow acquired the rights. :dunno

It does say MMS DX

That could mean Movie Masterpiece Series Deluxe...

I'm probably in the minority, but I'd really welcome a MMS DX joker. It would have the correct colored coat, correct inside for the suit jacket. There's also much, much room for improvement on the shirt and tie. And to make it different, give it the gold chain version instead of the silver, and give it the green waist coat/vest with the different detailed buttons. Maybe hollowed out more accurate shoes, with full length accurate socks.

As much as we all love the v1 joker, there is so much room for improvement beyond its poor head sculpt.

I am actually 100% with you on that. As much as I love my Joker v1, with the BillyB set and modded clothes, I would love an upgraded package.

So I had a DUH moment tonight and decided to check the last scene of Batman Begins where Lt. Gordon hands Batman the Joker evidence. I wanted to see how that evidence packet differed from Hot Toys'. I apologize in advance for my crappy pictures. I took pictures of my TV. I don't have a way of screen capping BDs.

Apparently, the important information on the front of the packet isn't code for the new figure. It was all just copied from Batman Begins. The only real difference is the "MMS DX" at the very bottom.

Even though it was never on screen, this picture from yourprops.com confirms that the case number is the same, too. So don't think that it is a new code because it's not in my picture.

But the back of the packet... The back is completely custom.

It's that control number that obviously stands out to me. So I guess it's April, 2009 (04 2009), or April 20, 2009 (04 20 09).

So other than the control number, the "MMS DX," and the cloth itself... I guess this really isn't covered in codes.

HHHmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Shortly after Cop Joker was annouced, it was apparently leaked that he would be coming with some pretty "must-have" accessories. So perhaps this is still about Cop Joker?

That was my gut reaction. Considering the DX lettering though, I'm betting this cop joker will be their first 'deluxe' and come with a TON of extra stuff. Maybe 2 extra sculpts.

What's most interesting here is the material.

Could Cop Joker be coming with a better purple coat? Granted the fit is nice on the v1, but the collar's wrong, the materials a bit smoother than the film one, and the color's a bit too dark. Of all things that could have been done better on the v1, the jacket's the only real stand out, it'd be cool if they offered an improved one, though it'd piss everyone not wanting to buy Cop Joker off.

Great shot of the fabric swatch in that link :)

Could be a great tease to collectors who recognize the inaccurate color of the purple coat. Man, this could go either way. I'm hoping it's a deluxe/revised V1

I checked the swatch against V1's coat, and the colour is exactly the same. My guess is this is a swatch from the fabric used to create the actual costume overcoat (the sort of thing you often see in 'costume card' pack ins with movie-based trading card packs).

So far we know (assume):

-It isn't Gordon. Hot Toys does not have Gary Oldman's likeness. They want to make this figure, but they can't.

-It is meant to promote the next announcement. Since Police Joker has already been announced, we're probably looking at something afterwards.

-The evidence bag, if used as a clue, indicates we're going to see a new Joker in April, but who knows.
