I want a tooth fairy and a Tom Manning as well. Jeffery Tambor is a great actor and he's really funny in both Hellboy films. I know he's just a guy in a suit, but hey, so is the Spirit!

yeah, but I never heard of the Spirit before, so he's of no importance to me, where as Manning is a great character in a movie that I love.
I was just saying that alot of people here like to say ' it's just a guy in a suit' when it comes to figures, so I was merely pointing out that although the Spirit is the main character he is, in essence, just a guy in a suit.

That looks great, passing on both. Except for the RHD I don't collect the HB movie stuff. Still wishing for BPRD/HB comic figures in 1/6.

Wow, the HT Hellboy and Abe are really cool figures. Unfortunately, I have to pass these due to the price points. I will stick to the SS's Hellboy for the moment.

abc-express is slow on this one.
Yeah they were a bit slow, but they're up now.

The price is a sticky one.

Abc has them both for $146. Ebay shows a discrepancy between Hellboy and Abe, with Abe as low as $124, but shipping, to my country, on that figure is double, so the price advantage is negated.

Sideshow has it up for $165 a piece. Unfortunately for them it isn't an exclusive, so Sideshows distributors are able to sell it for less. Alter Ego has it up for $149 a piece. Sideshow were able to force their distributors to stop undercutting by larger amounts, but in these economic times, even that change isn't helping them when they have such a benevolent cancellation policy. Still, it gets the product out of their warehouse faster and more efficiently because then they just have to ship a larger amount to the one place, and not be bothered by individual shipping to single collectors.

So do Sideshow a favour. Cancel now and order from Alter Ego or another distributor that has them up, and save yourself a few dollars in the process. Maybe more if their distributors use cheaper shipping methods.

I always order non-exclusive items from other distributors (usually Alter Ego because they offer a reward point program), unless I use Flexpay. The only way to have the price point lower is to show we're not willing to pay the inflated Sideshow website price. Something has definitely got to give because of the economic situation. Sure there is quality and artistry involved in the production of these collectibles, but I have noticed that the quality control has gone downhill while prices have gradually gone up. Where in past years Sideshow had fan prices and quality, I have seen a shift towards more business and a slant towards profits than giving love to the fans lately.

Good move by HT. Not releasing abe the same time as Hellboy is a suicide move.

Why's that? The people who were going to buy Abe were going to buy Abe regardless of release proximity to Hellboy. These high end collectibles, for the majority of people, are not knee jerk impulse buys like an $8 toy at a toy store. If you buy a $12 Hellboy toy and you see an abe toy sitting on the store shelf you'd be more inclined to pick him up if hellboy was there too. I don't think the same idea applies the same to $150 collectibles.

IMO, its the same thing. Some people might just get Hellboy, and skip abe. Some may get both, but I don't think anyone would solely get Abe alone.

A little dramatic there, no? Spacing two $150+ figures apart by a few weeks will have no effect whatsoever on the sales. Most people with average income probably appreciate the stagger in the release dates. I know I do. :D

Buying a $15 Abe when you buy your $15 Hellboy could be an impulse buy. At these prices people will wait a month.
