It looks like the GG one is a bit smaller. I'm not sure what the exact scale of that piece. Here is a side by side shot:

Man, that is really impressive looking... although the box is even more impressive

I agree the Wampa's face is a little odd looking, I do like the added snow matted into his fur though, overall looks like a great piece. And one I will certainly try to get a deal on at some point.

Here is a side by side with a screen shot from the movie. I think the tusks point to far in over the sides of his mouth. The other issues may just be the inherent problem of sculpting fur.

thank you for the pics - the wampa was supposed to be the best part of this dio - sorry to see it is lacking. Luke's face is also a disappointment.

I wonder what the going rate for this piece will be in a year's time?

Definitely too black and a bit on the long side... but still overall a very impressive looking Dio.

Wow, what an impressive-looking piece. I like it. I do agree though that the Wampa looks "off." I went back to look at SDCC pics of GGs version of the Wampa. The tusks on their design looks a bit more movie-accurate, but the overall face looks more like the abominable snowman from the Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer TV special. I think I like Sideshow's version better.

Gentle Giant is a near-perfect version of the non-SE Wampa. The SSC looks like an artist's interpretation of the creature.

I think I really like this piece now. I highly doubt I have room to display it though. The GG statue of the Tauntaun was already big and this dio is even bigger.

Great pics! Even though it does look a little stylized, I think it's a great looking piece. They did a excellent job sculpting this with all the different textures.

That looks pretty good. The Taun Taun doesn't look quite as terrified and Lukes face doesn't seem as bad either. I might get this someday.. if I have the room.

It is a big piece, but the SE Wampa was never my favorite.
