We get a new company willing to make stuff that HT won't touch, and when they ask people what they want they ask for more Marvel and DC crap. Nice. I bet SW is up there too.
It makes business sense to do that, especially if you’re new to the game.
I personally don’t want them to even touch marvel or Star Wars. Let hot toys continue to flood the market with that.
Give me all the DC and random film characters, but that won’t make sense business wise.

Holy crap at the posts with the “promised but abandoned” picks.

How the hell did I forget about 1/4 predator and Dutch???

Not surprising I guess...HT forgot about them too.

As much as I want QS to do figures from “smaller IPs”...man, the fact of the matter is...it’s just not a viable business move. They NEED a few more heavy hitters under their catalogue before they move on to the likes of predator, terminator, Batman 89, basically IPs that arent relevant at the moment, but are classics in the western world and has a market for them.

TDK trilogy, LOTR, the Batman...I’d say they’re off to a good and healthy start.

There's not a lot of heavy hitters that Hot Toys doesn't have the license for. When you take MCU and Star Wars out of the poll, you don't have a lot of current, post-2008 giant icons to make (people's personal pref aside).

They can do Superman and Wonder Woman I suppose. Maybe Keaton Bats once he appears in Flash/Batgirl/whatever else.

But then look at their remaining line-up now: Matrix 4 Neo, Legolas, Nazgul, Paul... not heavy hitters by a long stretch. So they are open... just seems it needs to be current.

I hope they take a look at Pirates of the Caribbean.

I hope they take a look at Mad Max (even if its Fury Road)

I'm happy Terminator is being considered and in the Top 3 of the poll. I'm rooting for Batman Returns though. Deluxe 2-pack with Penguin and Catwoman is a dream.

I wish I knew the Chinese market better and what they like so I could have a reasonable idea what we can expect.

I was referring to the posts that were annoyed about the polls including marvel and SW...it’s a necessary “evil” if we hope for QS to stick around Y’know?

As for the Chinese market...I’m sure RRX can elaborate, but when I lived there for 6 years, I can tell you without a doubt that anything pop culture wise from the 70s, 80s, 90s is almost non existent. There’s only a SMALL percentage of people that are familiar with things like predator, terminator, Godfather and a few more I can’t think of at the moment. But I’m sure you get the idea.

Which is why I said in an earlier post that if we want to see any of the burton Batman’s and rogues, it won’t be for a long while because they need to get bigger and their brand name needs to have more awareness...on a global level at the very least. Because those figures will ONLY appeal to the western market, much like how SW is only going to appeal to the western market.

Side note, when HT DX two pack of luke was released back then, I was able to get it MONTHS after it released, MSRP too. That should explain SW popularity in China haha.

Oh and edit- yeah, POTC will definitely be one of the heavy hitters I alluded to.

No matter how many times I see tdk this scene always puzzles me. Someone pls explain to me

they rotoscan the brick that has all the bullet fragments in it to isolate them, then put said fragments back together digitally, in order to obtain the fingerprint from said bullet when the person pushed it into the clip.

no, it’s no possible. :lol

That alone sound ridiculous but why try to replicate the shot?

...Hot Toys where is the Ripley Powerloader V.2 you promised?

Watched Danoby's channel where he basically said that H.C. will release a better Joker DX V3

Well H.C. do you feel lucky...?

lol

I also asked that myself. They could have just scanned the actual brick in question. But maybe to determine the caliber of the bullet based on the entry point? Then again, they can figure out what caliber it is just by scanning the actual brick. 🤣

Any ballistics expert here? Lol!
