Here’s a close up of the head, trying to show the texture.

Just received from One Sixth Kit. Packed with care. Thanks Kit!
These are quick, just out of the box pics. First impression…wow!
The box is solid with a magnetic flap.
The main issues that previous photos (and mine) show are not as prevalent as I thought they would be in person. Face doesn’t look as translucent or clammy. The material is very solid. I’ll still touch up the eyebrows a little, but I might leave the rest of the skin tone. It’s got subtleties that the camera hasn’t picked up. We’ll see.
The stitching looks a lot better in person. I wouldn’t remove the collar pattern, unless you’re willing to redo the stitching on the whole collar.View attachment 560698View attachment 560699View attachment 560700View attachment 560701
Congrats.
I agree on the headsculpt, I'm not sure I will have it repainted, when I pass in front of him in my display case he looks good as is.
My Deckard just took a shower this morning, the collar looks much better, will probably help with the rest.

Waiting on a brave soul to show how to modify the collar pattern😁

At least they dropped yours off. They’re still sitting on mine even though it was payed for on the 25th and allegedly “shipped” before the Chinese New Year holiday.
They pulled the same thing a month prior with another purchase I made- gave me three different tracking numbers and sat on the package for a month before it hit the mail.
Never buying from them again.

Today I received the same exact update on my tracker:

"Posted (Electronic customs information submitted)" But not the "Acceptance" part.
Lovely , I am still at "Sender is preparing item for posting" , looks like I will have to email them again if it doesn't change tomorrow, and this is my first order through them. Not to impressed so far.

TNS is even worse. Got a message today they will need to wait “ 3 weeks “ even before they can ship due to COVID. Then follow up with saying if I want to pay $20 they can ship now. I’m going to cancel with TNT if this is the BS with them . Doing a bait and switch in my book

Well, the Chinese tracking said it was dropped off in the U.S. on January 29th, but the USPS tracking says they are still awaiting the item. 🤬

Congrats.

Looks nice - brilliant fact. I take it you gave the coat the water treatment right?

Being primarily a statue collector, I've only dipped my toe into the 1/6 scale waters a few times. HT Star Wars troopers being my main vice.

Was always on the hunt for a decent Deckard and extremely grateful I came across this one. That being said, what exactly is the "water treatment" and how does one do this?

Water treatment is basically to wet the clothes so they fall better on bodies.

For Deckard I just put him up to his neck in water and waited for him to be soaking wet.
Then put him on his stand over a towel waiting for him to dry.

So you leave the clothes on the figure and just let him air dry?

Any time I've used water treatment on 1/6 clothing, I almost always remove the clothing from the figure, then wet it, then dress the body and allow it to dry. Some clothes can stain the body and/or other pieces of the outfit when damp. In that case use another body or do one garment at a time.

I guess that counts for most of us here. You are in good company, welcome!

Water treatment, there's some good advice from dantes2501 and Mr.E!
It took me a time to find it, because I had forgotten the name of the site, but I knew there was a tutorial somewhere:

http://www.rebelscum.com/laundryday.asp
It's a very old tutorial, but the method hasn't changed. Coincidently, the guy demonstrates the method on a figure which actually was the very first 12" collectible figure I ever bought and which kicked it all off for me: 2005 Sideshow Collectibles Jedi Luke! 17 years... and I still have it MIB. No, I'm not a MIB collector, but I just never got around unpacking some figures, and have a bunch that are still sealed.

That is old as time that Jedi Luke. :lol So is water treatment.

I always love a newbie's first attempt at water treatment. The fear. The angst. What will the water do? Will it hurt my doll? Then, once they do it, there's no turning back. Every doll immediately gets the water treatment. And then they're on the boards instructing the next newbie. It is a cycle of (collector) life.
