I hope HT proves me wrong but I doubt it. I?m sure this will be way undersized..
Katee is not big but she is not a waif either.
HT will make this waif sized...

How many female bodies does HT have? I already assumed they'll just use the same body as the MCU women but hope we're both wrong.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

What is with the headbands with the two yellow lights?

There's no canonical explanation for the headband and it's probably just decorative. But in the Legends continuity, neural bands existed in the Knights of the Old Republic era that helped wearers block Force users from reading/controlling minds. I could see it as a Mandalorian relic from their battles with the Jedi like the sarcophagus.

Or it's just a nice looking headband.

Yeah, that's more in line with what I was thinking it must be.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Damn, a lot of talk for this figure today !!

I reckon they'll do a headsculpt. Hopefully they learnt their lesson with Blonde Black Widow though and they go for sculpted hair. Thankfully it's the logical choice to swap out with the helmet. (like Luke or Solo Han).

As for Boba, there's a good chance they'll pull the old "no headsculpt with the first figure, then headsculpt with the second" to get you to buy both. I guess that's not too bad. New paint Boba also looks pretty sweet.

Alternatively they could do a deluxe version for the first teased figure with headsculpt and monk robe for an alternative look. Like Deluxe Luke.

Perhaps modifying the Cody or Jango sculpt is not too much work ?? Hopefully they have them as 3D model files like all modern sculptors. At least that would minimise the work.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

I will be shocked if this doesn't include a second head sculpt. I can't think of really what other accessories she would even come with.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Yeah, besides the two pistols she's pretty light on accessories. Though, that hasn't stopped the rash of lightly-accessorized Troopers lately.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

I"m really eager to see if Hot Toys will be generous enough to offer a HS for Bo (and Boba). Both teaser images featuring helmets are worrying. Yet, seeing how both teases are not immediately followed by PO give some hope that Hot Toys are currently working on HS that delay releases.

Wondering where and when prototypes will be revealed as well. Anyone remembers if a con or event takes place soon?

Tonight or tomorrow is the end of Chinese New Year and I think they traditionally have a release and also a new preorder at the end of CNY.

Cool I guess. Cara Dune and Kuiil should have come first. This line will always be woefully incomplete.

Yeah I definitely agree. I love both seasons but really love the first. Without Greef, Cara, or Kuiil, that'll be a huge empty gap. The fact that we're more likely to get Cobb Vanth than those 3 who was in 1 episode and never interacted with anyone else besides Grogu and Mando sucks.

There really haven?t been many female characters done. Multiple Leia figures, the two Jyn figures, and the three (soon to be four) Rey figures. I think most of the Leia sculpts have been good. Jyn was alright. The Rey sculpts were hit and miss.

There's really only been 2 Leia sculpts, the ANH and then the Hoth one they modified for the other two releases. I think the Bespin one looks the worst, something happened with the mold on that, the eyes are a bit buggy.

How many female bodies does HT have? I already assumed they'll just use the same body as the MCU women but hope we're both wrong.

I literally think it's the one body they use for all the MCU women/Leia/Rey and then Wonder Woman. Oh I forgot the Spider-Gwen/Ahsoka body, I can't tell obviously that they're the same but I think it's possible since they're both slim and from an animated origin. They absolutely need to develop another adult female body.

Did he ever wear that helmet?

I can't see HT doing Mayfield. He is HT-sidelined like Greef, Cara, Frog Lady and The Client.

That said, someone could easily make Transport trooper a Mayfield with a custom head.

Special Note: Mayfield is such a strange un-Star Wars name.

Well his full name is Migs Mayfield, which is a bit more Star Warsy.

I didn't realize until I looked him up a while back, it's MayFELD. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Migs_Mayfeld

So slightly less earthly feeling, but still agree. I think it's funny how the first movie has Luke, Ben, Leia, and then after that it's off the rails and then hardly anyone has an earth based name again. This is probably a dumb question, but did Lucas invent the name Anakin?

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Hot Toys knows that figures of popular characters or from popular licenses will sell regardless of how many accessories are included. They'll continue to push out the bare minimum number of accessories when they can and charge more for deluxe versions when they're able to.

Bo-Katan will sell like hotcakes without a head sculpt and with only her blasters and like 5 hands. People will grouse about it, but it's not like the figure isn't going to sell out.

Agreed. And while I personally will never use the headsculpt, I expect this character to have one and be a one and done figure. Unless there's major changes for her in season 3 or something.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

I would likely pose her with helmet off holding her helmet, gun ready just in case.

Distinctive face with headband and red hair seems a shame to cover up.

I do hope they include a Katee Sackhoff portrait. Sculpted hair and LED headband would be nice. But I'm not going to get my hopes up on that.

I would more than likely buy two figures to display the head sculpt with though. If it comes out well that is.

So this but with a pistol in her left hand?

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Yep. That's the pose. Hopefully not the little smile.

She does kind of look like a 50's mom cosplaying.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Damn people really expecting a headsculpt with this? Hot Toys seems to avoid doing headsculpts whenever possible nowadays.

I'd be surprised if we even got a headsculpt with their Season 2 Mando. I would love to be wrong but they seem to be in the "avoid headsculpts" as of late. At least when it comes to characters that have a full helmet on.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

That helmet though, hands down one of the best in Star Wars. This would be the hardest hs vs helmet display choice since Cody.
