Love the episode but why does FETTS armour look so odd when on? We had the skinny Deadwood guy in E1 wearing it and it looked funny. Now Fett (aging) who reminded me of Noland from PREDATORS.

80s costume design. Boba was also wearing thick robes underneath and beefed it out a bit more. Pretty sure Morrison is pretty in shape for a guy pushing 60.

'm officially too old for this ****. :( But everyone else is digging it like crazy, so they're definitely doing something *very* right. No doubt about that.

You've pretty much summed up my feelings since S1. Welcome to the Grumpy Old Men's club!

Spoiler Spoiler:

Since Disney Wars he's evolved from good guy to swindler, and back, no fewer than three times! Too much 'splainin' and backgroundin'!

Didn't hate the episode, in fact I wanted to LOVE it. Felt more like a well made fan cosplay episode for BFat than Mando.

Compared to last episode, it def. felt very low budget. I wonder if they blew a lot on the previous episode, and have to save some money for the finale.

The Boba Costume felt very cosplay.

I mean overall it is an okay episode, but def. noticed some flaws spread throughout.

Loved the last episode. I have very few complaints about it or any of season 2 so far. Yeah, there are some plot points that don’t make that much sense but oh, well. They are pretty minor in comparison to the awesomeness of the show.

As far as chapter 14 goes I didn’t like the Dark Troopers, the look or the introduction. Didn’t like Mando “forgetting” he left his jet pack off and felt the scenes on the Imp cruiser were a bit cheezy.

What doesn’t bother me a bit but seems to be brought up is why Fett didn’t reaquire his armor from the Marshall on Tatooine. I just figured he didn’t know where it was exactly or still existed until so much attention was drawn to the town due to Mando, the dragon hunt and the Tuskens joining forces with the towns folk. By the time he got there it was too late to get it back.

Overall the episode was amazing. I loved seeing a seasoned Fett in action. Loved the dialogue between the cast and the mystery surrounding the rock. So far it’s simply entirely an enjoyable and fun season to watch.

You had one job Favreau, and that was to not make Boba Fett a good guy.

I weathered half a decade of "they ruined Han, they ruined Leia, they ruined Luke, they ruined Palpatine" in total disagreement with the naysayers.

This might be where I jump ship.

I don't know. This episode was disjointed as hell. It was fun to see Robert Rodriguez cut loose but he was clearly in "Spy Kids" mode and I wanted "Alita."

I do admit to feeling a bit giddy when Slave I showed up and when Fett finally went to town in his own armor but eh...this was not the "Rogue One Vader" moment I was looking for. The thing I loved about seeing Vader unleashed in RO was that he truly still *felt* like OT Vader. I just can't tie anything about this current Fett to the icon from ESB.

I'll give this episode a second watch with tempered expectations to see if I feel differently but man I'm kind of in shock right now. Most of it felt like some cheesy 90's sci-fi show or hell a borderline home movie of SW nerds LARPing in the desert, lol. Maybe I'm being too harsh but damn I'm not gonna lie, I went from thinking that this show was some of the coolest SW ever to now rethinking whether I want to accept any of it.

Wow. Quite an opinion of the episode, Khev. I thought Fett?s depiction was incredible and the best thing in the episode. For me it added to the cool factor of Fett because we never really saw him in action in the OT. He was just a mysterious figure that us kids built up in our minds to mythological levels but not really based on anything tangible. Now here he is in all his glory...with more than three words of dialog to boot.

He?s not a good guy and not a bad guy. He was always just a bounty hunter. Now we see he follows somewhat of a code. Favreau didn?t make him out to be anything different than what he is.

I'm back to feeling like the stereotypical old guy who is completely out of touch with what the younger generation finds cool and satisfying. To me, this episode requires turning off the brain to an extent that I just can't understand the appeal of.

Spoiler Spoiler:

I'm really hoping that Thrawn be handled with a different sensibility. Maybe this frolicking, turn-off-your-brain romp is just to clear the way for a different tone later. If not, please leave Thrawn's live-action presence at nothing more than that mention last week.

I'm with you on this one.

I can't believe that as goofy as Cobb looked in the armor he still looked cooler than *actual Boba Fett.* :slap:

And he was more badass. Hell Fett blowing up the transports wasn't even that cool. Oh look, he pulled a "Cobb." TM's Fett is truly a poser in every sense of the word. He was a second rate Jeremy Bulloch and now he's a second rate Timothy Olyphant.

I think part of it is that so much of this new Fett is associated with TM's face and voice that I can't help but see him as "Jango Reborn" as opposed to "Boba Reborn." I just didn't feel like I was watching an OT character cut loose at all.

I wanted to love this, I really did. And I don't want to spoil anyone's fun who is loving this. Like I said we'll see how I feel after watching it again.

I have absolutely no problem seeing TM as Fett since we never saw his face in the OT and only heard a few words from Bulloch. I thought he did a fantastic job at bringing the character to life. He made me appreciate why Han was terrified that Boba was hunting him. It was as cool seeing him in action as it was seeing Vader in action in Rogue One. It would be like saying that scene with Vader wasn’t awesome because Prowse wasn’t in the suit.

Like you, I *wanted* to like this. Actually, I wanted to end up loving the **** out of it. Fett matters to me in a way that's hard to explain. So many reasons for it. A character defined by a combination of skills and characteristics that were evident *just from context,* and all established within a few mere minutes in ESB. To me, he's the ultimate badass because his reputation precedes him. If you're going to put *that* guy on screen, he needs to live up to that reputation. Otherwise, don't bother.

I sensed this was going to be underwhelming as soon as "Boba" said, "we need to talk." Bad start. Then came the Jango line nod of "I'm just a simple man..." Strike two. And eventually there's his joke about not hitting the ship he was aiming for (at least I'm assuming it was a joke since that top ship was the only way to take both out in one shot). Bottom line: not what I was hoping for. The change-of-heart, honorable Fett isn't likely to ever win me over. To do so, they're going to have to de-PT this guy something fierce.

As for how "badass" he was (due to the melee fighting that everyone is fawning over), all I can say is that it *should've* been pure badass. But how can it be truly that way if they played up stormtroopers to be nothing but cartoonish fodder? You're not a badass if you're taking out benchwarmers from the junior varsity team.

And yeah, his look needs an overhaul. That was a far cry from optimal, just from an aesthetic point of view.

I'm curious if I'll lighten up on a second viewing, but the fact that I'm not eager to watch this again right away is pretty telling. And there was more than just Fett that I was broadly disappointed with.

Two more to go, though. Could take a major turn for the better (like how I felt about episode 4 a few weeks ago).

Oh no! They made Boba Fett, a character who was somehow perceived as a badass in the OT, despite doing absolutely nothing cool, into an actual bad ass doing bad ass things!

So, you wanted him to just stand around... menacingly then?

They didn't ruin Fett at all... they IMPROVED Fett. It was a great performance. Wanna know what is actually borderline garbage movie of some SJWs playing Star Wars? The sequels, with their made for TV look, taking place in literal studios, which every episode was disjointed as hell. I get more sense of scale and large battles from Mando than I ever did from the ST.

Just because what ever you dreamed up about Fett in your mind as a kid didn't come true doesn't mean he is ruined. He is honorable. He honors his word, regardless of who it is.

lol more badass give me a break.

That boring sack of potatoes did nothing. Fett took down two platoons of stormies and beat the **** out of them doing it. Fett isn't a poser whatsoever.

You are just mad because you didn't get your make believe version of Fett.

Fett at least looked more menacing but that was probably just the black robes being more so than fluffy red pirate shirt, but they both looked off.

Timothy Olyphant may have been great in Deadwood but I swear Cobb Vanth is coasting on that performance, because he was awkward and forgettable in most of his Mando scenes but half the dudes on this board seem to have a serious man-crush on him. :lol

Agreed 100%. ROTJ failed to have him live up to his reputation, the PT failed, and now he were are with joke cracking, promise keeping, "let's find a diplomatic solution to our dilemma" Fett. Good lord. I so wanted his portrayal in this show to just lock in the PT as canon once and for all and that just didn't happen.

Yep. Cobb hit the vehicle he was aiming at. Let that sink in.

Can you imagine OT Fett saying any of Mando Fett's lines? No way. OT Fett would have attacked Mando without a word, taken back his armor, and hand delivered the kid to Gideon for that awesome reward. But no Ahsoka Tano is a cold blooded badass who breaks her promise to train Grogu while Boba Fett is all about diplomacy and honor. What the hell.

And he had access to Slave I all this time but instead willingly chose to wander the wastes of Tatooine in a dress in for five years?

I've never seen a single episode of Deadwood. No joke.

:rotfl

I seriously hope they establish that he either hasn't been out of the sarlacc that long, or that he was out of commission for a reeeeally long time. Otherwise, this dude should've had his armor back, collected bounties, and mounted trophies by the timeline of the show. That's not gonna sit right with me unless there's a damn good reason why he sat back before chasing Mando across the galaxy.

Amazing yes, but not perfect. Tell me you didn't ask yourself why Mando wouldn't quickly put his jetpack back on before going back for Grogu. It was rocky, uneven terrain that he could cover much quicker via jetpack. It was done so BF could have his time to shine, but there really was no reason they couldn't both take to the air. It made Mando look panicky, which he definitely is not. Same with the destruction of the RC. Moff Gideon & company obviously knew there was a 2nd ship. It made no sense to leave them a way off the planet with Slave I.

Watched it again and - yeah. At first thought maybe the jetpack was too far to get to - but nope. To me it's a bigger flaw in that Din D'jarin is quick thinking. Season 1 he goes for the jetpack that he had for minutes. By Season 2 he wears it a lot, so why suddenly forget something that gives you the high ground?

Personally looking forward to stopping the flow of guest appearances where the guest needs a stage to show how badass they are. Ok everyone is badass. Even the baby is badass. NOW can we go rescue the Child and replace Mando' s ride and get on with the restoration of Mandalore...nope wait. Sabine Wren needs to show up; Ezra Bridger, and somehow Darth Maul needs to get resurrected.:monkey3

I imagine now Fett has his armour back he'll adopt a more 'slimmer' look in the final episodes if he loses the robes...

In regards to Mando, his sheer panic and need to protect Grogu finally caught up with him. Made his character very grounded and will surely pay off in the last 2 episodes to drive him on his rescue mission.
