Been 6 months since I got on the WAITLIST now for the EX. Not looking good, unless its just coronavirus delays.

I think you are in good shape until sideshow officially emails you the cancellation of your order. In 14 years and numerous waitlists I think I have had 5 cancellations, 3 of those came in stock at sideshow later.

I have been on the wailtlist for 3 years before the canceled it lol. I knew there was no chance after about 4 months but they forgot about it or something.

Just buy the regular version and pick up the mini pod holgram on eBay. It's a steal! :rotfl

Thanks so much! :duff

In general consensus what is the ?best? suit; diecast III, IV or VII?

While the mark 3 design is probably my all time favorite, the figure is objectively the worst out of the ones you mentioned. It is undersized, paint is inaccurate to the movie and quite limited in articulation. However the diecast 4 and 7 are pretty close quality wise, it becomes more a matter of which design you like better. Most people around here seem to prefer the 7 (myself included). Intricate details like the small rockets on his legs and the paint apps really give it the edge here imo.

VII is the best looking out of the three, but IV brings back memories of my first Hot Toys figure (back when these don't cost over $200!)

Why is VI not in the options? :lol

I was just showing that original iron man to my gf yesterday. I just have that original stark head on it now. It looks like and feels like a toy instead of a poseable statue. I miss the plastic iron men. I wonder if you can put a newer stark head on that original iron man figure?

The die cast ones are so heavy and so many moveable parts that I cant really play with those or pose them with a dynamic stand. The best I can do is find a fighting pose and leave them standing straight up.

I do have the mk 50 in a scene fighting with thanos along with a bunch of other figures. He is crouched a bit but even for that pose I had to use 2 stands, one on each knee, to hold him up because he is too heavy.

Thanks for that comprehensive input. :)

I?m the same; 3 is my absolute favourite but I completely get that it is inaccurate in places (especially the colour).

Think I may go with the 7 also.

Very glad I could help out, I really don't think you could go wrong with this one. :)

Never owned a Hot Toys figure so why not go all in with the MMS500?!
My only concern is re the shoulder socket.
Was it ever confirmed that all Diecast Iron Man figures had that rubber ring around the plastic socket?
Was it only noticed because you had to remove the arms on the MKVII for POD mode and with other figures you only removed the arms for repairs?
If so, why choose rubber?
Cheers!

I receive my Hot Toys Diecast Iron Man MKVII in just 3 days! I am so excited. Judging by the pictures and YouTube videos he looks absolutely phenomenal.

Congrats! He is truly amazing figure. I have him still in a box as I am moving out soon. But I did check him out and he is stunning and come with lots of accessories which I wish it was the same for the more recent HT releases.

Just received my Mark VII diecast, amazing figure. However there seems to be an issue with the RDJ head, the faceplates (both BD and normal) don't sit flush on the head, anyone else have this issue? just wondering what I should do
