The bubble had to get burst sooner or later.
No where is safe, momaw.
Spoiler:killing Ben Solo. What the ****. Such a huge opportunity wasted, so many future stories gone. The message changed from "you can always fix your mistakes" to "you can always fix your mistakes as long as you die after" lol. If you've read any of the books or comics, this poor kid has been tortured and manipulated by the dark since he was a baby. He's happy for like 2 minutes and dies. Totally a cop out IMO...
This should've been the ending shot if they wanted the twin suns
Would've also been cool if the last scene was Ben and Rey rebuilding the temple he burnt down...
Sorry to crash the thread, but the old "hate everything" tagline is getting old. All you "lovers" of all things SW, that say the "haters" hate everything, have been monumentally put you your place by the universal praise and love of The Mandalorian. I haven't seen anyone, anywhere, saying they "hate" it. Whereas TLJ...
Everyone's take is valid, but enough of the "us", vs "them." This is supposed to be the "positive" thread, so why slag off?
Everyone wants to love everything that's released. Some can. Some can't. But this ******** about sexist, racist, bigots, toxic haters, blah, blah blah, is just juvenile name calling rather than accepting that other people have a different point of view.
Had some gripes with the last movie as someone who really liked TLJ. But here's the main ones:
1.

Spoiler:Well, I haven't read any of the books, but it seems to me that had he lived the first thing that would take place in the next movie was his trial for the countless atrocities he committed on numerous worlds. So after he was either executed or locked away forever, what huge opportunities did you have in mind?
Its really not that old. I'm not calling out anyone in particular or saying everyone acts like this, but lets be real, there are a LOT of people on this forum that are quicker to hate than appreciate. I've been reading these takes for 5 years now. If you go into something believing it HAS to be like this (some preconception) in order for it to be good, then you'll probably have a negative reaction. One example: Luke's character arc in the ST. I thought it was an interesting avenue to go, but most thought it was blasphemous.Sorry to crash the thread, but the old "hate everything" tagline is getting old. Spoiler:At the end when Palpatine wants Rey to strike him down and become the Empress, he says 1000 generations of Sith live in him and she needs to complete the sacrifice. So as each Sith apprentice kills the master, that master's spirit and power in the dark side (and every one prior) possesses them. So Palpatine carries the spirits of every Sith Lord and their power. It explains why he is so damn powerful and probably how he survived until now.
If you think about it, Vader killed Dooku and as far as we know, Dooku never killed a Sith lord to become Sidious's apprentice. So Vader never had the thousands of sith inside him, which could explain why he was never able to fully extinguish the light from inside himself. But since Vader DID kill Dooku, he took his Dark power.
To sum up, it gave a whole new weight to the scene when Luke was tempted in ROTJ. I always thought it was a metaphor when Palps said Luke would strike him down and start down the Dark path, but it was literal. If Luke had killed Palpatine, then he would've inherited all those Sith spirits and been possessed forever. My belief is Vader knew this deep down and blocked the attack to save Luke from that. So to the Sith, killing the master and taking their power was a ritual they practiced for thousands of years. In a sense, the powers and knowledge of each master lives on in the new host of the Dark side..
So when Rey gets up with the power of all the Jedi before her and defeats Palpatine, she effectively ends the Sith and their line of power forever.
This is one reason I love this film. So many lore implications are sprinkled throughout. Brilliant job by Abrams and Terrio.

Spoiler:If he is all-powerful why did he need (a) the Clone Wars and (b) the proxy of Snoke and the First Order?
Yep, I feel somewhat defeated, at least about sharing with others. The internet's only purpose is to debate. That's all its good at.
There's already a ton of Babu Frik vs Baby Yoda... google it. I mean, the internet wants to put you at war. Pick a side. Choose a group. Make a stand.
If you give up, then the internet has already won.

I still like (or dislike) these movies the same as I always have. No amount of hate/negativity will change that. I'm stubborn that way.
Just don't understand what the point of bashing something nonstop, day after day is? If that's what I looked forward to in my life, I'd kill myself.I hear you. There definitely seems to be a good deal of negativity in the main TROS thread but eh, at the end of the day we enjoyed them movie so first world problems if everyone doesn't agree with us right?

If I don't like something, I might say my piece and move on. Not focus on it constantly
