It's okay. You're safe in your survival bubble. It was just a public service announcement!

The air in here won't run out for a while yet. :lol

I imagine some here wearing flower crowns while playing an instrument by a warm fire.

Lol jk

Had some gripes with the last movie as someone who really liked TLJ. But here's the main ones:

1. Some things didn't look to have much effort put into them production-wise. Luke's super obvious wig wasn't even remotely close to length as his TLJ hair, Kylo's helmet looked far more "hasbro" than it did in the first two movies, etc.

2. The lightsaber battles could have definitely been choreographed better IMO, found them lacking, a bit short, and honestly just shot poorly. DS2 battle should've been much more emotional and impactful.

3. The biggest one

Sorry to crash the thread, but the old "hate everything" tagline is getting old. All you "lovers" of all things SW, that say the "haters" hate everything, have been monumentally put you your place by the universal praise and love of The Mandalorian. I haven't seen anyone, anywhere, saying they "hate" it. Whereas TLJ...

Everyone's take is valid, but enough of the "us", vs "them." This is supposed to be the "positive" thread, so why slag off?

Everyone wants to love everything that's released. Some can. Some can't. But this ******** about sexist, racist, bigots, toxic haters, blah, blah blah, is just juvenile name calling rather than accepting that other people have a different point of view.

I don't like The Mandalorian, haven't made it all the way through one episode yet. It's just boring to me and like you said everyone's take is valid. Someone else mentioned 1980, ESB is my least favorite Star Wars movie. I don't love everything Star Wars and don't need people saying we can't be friends if I like something they don't. Yes, someone here posted that to me. I mostly come here to check out the figures anyway, suppose I should stick to reading those area's.

Its really not that old. I'm not calling out anyone in particular or saying everyone acts like this, but lets be real, there are a LOT of people on this forum that are quicker to hate than appreciate. I've been reading these takes for 5 years now. If you go into something believing it HAS to be like this (some preconception) in order for it to be good, then you'll probably have a negative reaction. One example: Luke's character arc in the ST. I thought it was an interesting avenue to go, but most thought it was blasphemous.

My issue is not that people don't blindly love everything, its that people are just so quick to be dismissive and trash something because it didn't turn out exactly how they thought it would. Its simple closed mindedness. I'm not a blind star wars lover, I just choose to focus on the positive aspects of each film.

Truthfully, there are flaws with each entry, including the OT. But I accept them as they are and enjoy all of them, even the Clone Wars film. Even that movie has some redeeming aspects to it. On the other hand, the Mandalorian, which is supposed to be the second coming of the OT to reunite the fanbase started out great and really fell off in episodes 4-6. In spite of some boring plots and bad acting, I still choose to focus on what is good there: style, setting, music, character building, etc.

And if a lot of the people I'm thinking of turn out to like TROS, then that's awesome! I really just want people in general to move away from so much toxic negativity, especially on social media. Its ok to not like something, but its not ok to be so obnoxious that you try to ruin it for everyone else.

The bummer is people not merely giving their opinions but taking snide jabs at people who have the opposite views. I see it coming from both sides though. It's not going anywhere unfortunately. It's always going to be a thing.

So I was thinking about the movie and thought about a crazy detail that changes everything we thought about the dark side.

I saw it today and I enjoyed it. But honestly, I'm so burned out by all the hate and negativity on here (this forum, not thread) in all the time since TFA, that I just can't summon the desire to write about what I liked and didn't like.

I'll see it again, soon.

The internet's only purpose is to debate. That's all its good at.

There's already a ton of Babu Frik vs Baby Yoda... google it. I mean, the internet wants to put you at war. Pick a side. Choose a group. Make a stand.

If you give up, then the internet has already won.

Yep, I feel somewhat defeated, at least about sharing with others.

I still like (or dislike) these movies the same as I always have. No amount of hate/negativity will change that. I'm stubborn that way.

I hear you. There definitely seems to be a good deal of negativity in the main TROS thread but eh, at the end of the day we enjoyed them movie so first world problems if everyone doesn't agree with us right? ;)

Just don't understand what the point of bashing something nonstop, day after day is? If that's what I looked forward to in my life, I'd kill myself.

If I don't like something, I might say my piece and move on. Not focus on it constantly

Honestly, I see very little "debate" going on, and more, "your opinion is stupid and differs from mine, therefore you are stupid and must be destroyed". I tried, and my thoughts were ignored in favour of ongoing fighting.

At least you engaged with it, but moreso for comedic purposes. As another tired of the relentless negativity (earned or not) I understand the desire to take Luke's path and just no longer engage (except when I do, like here, even though I shouldn't).

For some it's been day after day for the last few years. I honestly don't know where they get the fuel for it.

I dunno why you guys let it bother you so much. Who cares if a bunch of people are negative all the time. You say your piece about the topic, engage with the people who share your opinion and ignore the rest. Can't it be that simple?

And I can point you to much worse places than SSF in any case. There are good, balanced people here. Just talk to those guys.
