That’s exactly my point. Anybody who’s been paying attention since April knew a Beskar armor version was inevitable. So why are people freaking out that Hot Toys will re-release the original armor and that’s the only way to get Baby Yoda. Where’s the precedence that Hot Toys has done something like that before or do people just overthink things and work themselves up over nothing?

People speculating that Hot Toys might double dip is hardly unprecedented. They announced Deluxe Jedi Luke with Endor gear, extra head sculpt and desert gear just after most had received their less deluxe Jedi Luke's and while some were still waiting for delivery. Same with the Death Trooper. Released a regular followed up with a Deluxe after many had locked in and then even a third variant. Those are just two off the top of my head. Sometimes they announce these things at the same time (like regular and Deluxe ESB Boba) giving people a choice upfront, sometimes they do it after the initial less accessorised version has been up for PO long enough to have collected quite a sizeable number of NRD's, or even shipped (like Deluxe Jedi Luke), leaving some feeling cheated. I'm sure others can name more examples and across various franchises. I try not to get too hung up on these things personally.

Y?know, everybody says that but I?ve been collecting for awhile and other than re-releasing Iron Man?s in diecast, when have they done a version 2 just to release a piece as significant as a Baby Yoda would be.

I remember the Dark Knight figures getting multiple releases but I don?t recall them adding an actual must-have accessory. Can someone shed some light because I?m drawing a blank here.

Because that version two [the beskar armor] is coming regardless. We all know it! So why ~not~ pack the baby in with that, which will ensure that we all purchase that figure too? Its a no-brainer for HT. Its the guess that makes most sense to me.

My understanding is that they rarely, if ever, offer things like accessory packs for pre-existing figures, they'd rather just sell you another figure.

And in this case, they'll most likely include an unmasked version of Mando and again, we'll all purchase just for that anyways.

[Well, maybe. I am strangely okay with never seeing Mando's face. He has mystery now, and I like it like that. If they reveal his face, it will probably have something to do with romance. No! I want to see intergalactic bad-assery, not a soap-opera. I'm really torn about seeing his face.]

Ok, so pretty much nothing as important as a Baby Yoda then. I bought the first release Jedi Luke because I wanted Jedi Luke and didn’t care about any Endor gear. I’ve enjoyed the 2-3 years I’ve been able to have him displayed.

As far as the DeathTrooper, that also didn’t come with anything “must-have” on its initial release and it even had the ammo pack vest so again? No big deal they added a doll to the deluxe. So yeah, I have no reason to believe the Baby Yoda won’t just be packed with the Beskar armor version. People don’t need to be so dramatic about them re-releasing another original armor Mando. At worst case scenario, it won’t be until at least 3 more years. Nothing to sweat about now.

"Must have" is subjective. And I agree it'll likely come with a Beskar suit version (or another figure to boost it's sales), but saying their is no precedence for people to feel uneasy that they may have bought a figure that will soon be superseded by another version they feel is superior isn't quite true. There are likely some who would, if given the choice and likely dollar difference between the Mandalorian we have and the same as a deluxe with the asset, would choose what we have. People choose Emperor without the Throne (which many consider "must have") over the deluxe. If you look on SS right you can see examples where the deluxe is in stock and the regular long sold out.

My money is on a 1/1 scale baby Yoda really soon.

HOW MUCH WOULD A HT 1:1 BABY YODA EVEN COST I am guessing north of $2500....? He's cute but that cute, I dunno. HT would make a ton of money tho?

I really had to think long and hard about it; how mad would I be if we have the version 2 coming soon? Not mad at all, really. Not only is version 1 excellent in its own right, I really like the base that comes with it. Version 2 most likely would not hit till 2021. LATE 2021. Long way off.

Too many versions can be a drawback though. Its why I don't own an Iron Man. I should have bought one, and actually had one preordered once. Then I changed my mind, and then HT was basically all house party protocol with 50,000 versions. I actually was confused. This one or that one? Why is that one so expensive?! No, I don't like the head sculpt on this one here. So I ended up with none, and now I feel bad.

I will remember this when I start thinking I want to cancel Mando 1. I ALWAYS REGRET CANCELLING

That would be more 1/2 Mandalorian size and price. Baby Yoda is roughly the size of 1/6 Hulk or maybe slightly bigger (give or take) so i would think it would be in the $300 range.

I just want one to put next to my 1/1 Baby Groot :lol

Hot toys will make baby Yoda. That’s gonna happen
I will probably pop for the beskar version of the mando as well. Ok I will. Who I am fooling?

The only accessory packs I can think of were iron man of course. The workshop bench and the mark 50 bits.

Yoda could be a stand alone thou. A bit li8e anthony and ant man?.

On the other hand, the ROTJ Luke debacle was pretty bad.

iM don?t sure that just turns female or new fans away. Some of the way people behave towards each other on this forum is pretty poor.

I have to agree.

Some posts I deleted and the rest I moved to The Mandalorian (Star Wars Live Action Series) thread in the Movies & TV Show discussion forum.

If you want to discuss the show then do it in the appropriate thread/forum.

This thread is for discussing the Hot Toys 1/6 scale figure.

Keep in mind the part of the CoC I quoted. It applies EVERYWHERE.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread and the one in the movie & tv forum since I mod both.

I don't want to use the Freaks Be Good Stick but I will if necessary.

Thread reopened.

Well, saw episode 2 last night and I now want this figure more than ever!

I don't know how people were ever saying this is Boba Fett, this guy is light-years away from Fett.

Altho I am now fighting the impulse to pick up the SS Mythos Fett figure, too. Just because. He has potential.

Its gonna be a long wait for HT Mando :(

Well, duh. Thats the difference when you're background character with 1 minute and 5 lines in two movies compared to being the main character of your own show:dunno But that's an easy thing to say now, after 4 episodes, but all that Boba Fett talk was all based on the initial trailers. Before the show started, every trailer had the selling point of him being a strong and silent type Bounty Hunter character in armor ala Boba Fett. All you had to do was add color to his armor and 99% of people wouldn't have thought any different.

But I don't think anyone expected this much character and charm out of him and that's definitely a welcomed surprise. There'll be people that'll say they expected that from Pedro, including myself. But I actually think he's over-delivering. And that's just in his voice acting because I know that's definitely not him in that armor...yet.

I say this because do you think Fett ever cared what happened to the prize after he turned it over? Hell no. He collected the bounty and it was all good; he would have handed that baby over and not given a damn. So just that one thing tells the casual observer that this could not possibly be Fett.

I must agree. He's almost TOO nice.

Have to admit, I want Mando to cross paths with Fett somewhere in this series. My understanding is that in this timeline, Fett would be getting on up there, but I don't think the passage of time would have tamed him a bit. I don't think he and Mando would get along AT ALL, and this would be extremely interesting to see.

I am now kinda wanting to see HT Armorer. She would be very cool.
