Dude he doesn't even like Miles Morales. He just posted a video saying "tell me one cool thing that Miles has done that Peter didn't already do in some form or another. Take your tokenized **** and GTFO."

He's still so freaking pissed about what they did to Monica Rambeau. "Screw up the actual black heroes and then give me sloppy seconds black versions of existing white characters." The dude makes a compelling point.

Yo I agree and I’ve been telling people this. Miles Morales doesn’t have his own identity or villains or story. He’s just black peter. He piggy backs off the successful Spider-Man instead of being his own character and he doesn’t grow. I don’t understand the love for the character. I feel like people are afraid to say these new legacy heroes are horribly written cause then they’ll get a bunch of soft ass people in there dms.

Into the Spiderverse gave miles an identity and story and he felt like a an actual Batman beyond type character than he ever did before. He had a great story arc and his villain back story was done much better.

That’s all these characters are. They are sloppy seconds to existing heroes. DC gives characters there own identity and each Robin was different, each green lantern is different, each flash is different. Miles Morales is not new or interesting and people just give him a pass cause he’s of color but excuse his poor writing it’s absolutely ridiculous.

Name one story arc after the death of peter that miles has? U can’t . And I’m sure most of his “fans” don’t either. End rant

After seeing Castle Bravo and the Argo in KOTM, it seems like any form of tech can be considered reasonable in the MonsterVerse.

Toho saying a “Jaeger” or “Mechanism Godzilla” is a popular character that we might see in GvK.

They should just go for it. Go crazy. The movie will probably underperform anyway so if you’re going to fail, fail spectacularly.

I don't think they were talking about the American films, I think they were speculating about what they're going to do for the Japanese Godzilla films coming after next year.

I can appreciate some of your points, but overall, I think Miles is pretty great. I agree that Marvel was initially using the success of Peter Parker to “reinvent” Spider-Man, but I’ve read every run of Miles’ Spider-Man to date and felt the Ultimate run did a fine job of giving him his own identity. They even openly address his struggles of people confusing him as the “original” Spider-Man.

He was catapulted into the superhero game younger than Peter, but had the added “bonus” of dealing with a family member who knew his identity and tried exploiting him over it. As much as I loved the Into The Spider-Verse movie, it did his backstory no favors, in my opinion. One of my fave Miles villains is the Prowler. Not because of his strength, stamina, whatever, but because he’s a manipulator. He plays games with Miles’ head, and that’s putting it simply. You don’t appreciate that from watching the movie to the degree you get from reading the comics. And that was a huge miss for me. I think you relate less to Miles because of that. I loved the movie though, FWIW.

His costume isn’t original, but I think his Venom Strike and camouflage move sets are actually pretty bad*** . Also wanted to call out that we have Miles to thank for Ned/Ganke in the Sony movies, who I’ve enjoyed a lot too.

In terms of story arcs, I can’t even remember when Parker died to be honest. Regardless, I really enjoyed the Prowler/“introduction” story arc and the United We Stand/Divided We Fall ones. His Cataclysm crossover was pretty awesome too, IMO. He’s not perfectly written, but I’ve found he’s a character well worth reading about.

I don’t agree with you about DC though because they’re just as guilty as Marvel. They just did it earlier by creating characters like Wally West. Wally takes over as the Flash after Crisis. He has the same villains, basically the same powers and a less than inspiring reworked costume just as Miles did. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing but I think you’re giving DC too much credit.

Just my two cents. I respect what you’re saying though.
