Thanks - the grappling gun and grenade (clipped to chest like in ATAT scene) are 100% scratch-built, the unique Muppet Show/Dagobah arrival blaster (higher/more spaced scope, greeblies and flash suppressor different) is maybe 50% scratch built.

The grappling gun and grenade are almost impossible to find good ref pics on, but I managed to dig out some very obscure bts pics to get the detailing and scale right.

The coat can be quite significantly futzed, but it also helps to cut out the sleeves from the jumpsuit beneath. That's what I did on mine.

The material they used for the jacket is so perfect - it's a very good match to the costume (the Luke jacket's a copy of the Walrusman coat from ANH but is not leather like that one and has different pleating - it's a sail-like material) but also is quite delicate for futzing and holds poses. Cut/sew on the Sideshow coat is scary good - best they've done.

I would love to see what HT would do with a Snowspeeder Luke. While the jacket and quite a few pieces are spot-on from Sideshow (the white bib is brilliant, and the jumpsuit is superior to the HT Imp Gunner one, helmeted sculpt really is great) they still messed up on stuff like the chestbox (too small - mine are both custom replacements) and belt (not sure where to start.) I prefer sculpted snowboots over the HT pleather ones, but the Sideshow boots paint isn't great.

Thanks for all of the info.

One question, where did you get the chest box from?

Does anyone known which body from Hot Toys is the DX Luke body?

Is it either of these?

Can anyone clarify for me what the difference is between the Sideshow Exclusive version of this figure and the international “retailer” version Popcultcha sold? Is the latter missing any accessories?

The exclusive has a pair of bare hands and folded gloves ... I think. I have the regular.

Luke has a bad feeling about this.

(Sorry about the low light snap, but bad cell pics are kinda my thing at this point [emoji38])

I don't have it, but I'd dare to say it IS Sideshow's BEST Star Wars figure to date.

Technically a machine, but I'd give it to the Probe Droid, with Snowspeeder Luke a very, very close second.

I look at the droid next to the film playing and it's as close to perfect as I've seen any 1/6 piece get. Easier than a human likeness though, so kind of an easy win. Still...phenomenal piece.

Finally finished mine based upon the photo above. Thanks to all of the good advice I got here on how to put it together:

As I look at these great pictures, I still continue to kick myself for stalling on that PO button until it was too late.

It just looks fantastic
