Would you believe I've barely had it out of the box? I'm not much of an opener, and I wasn't aware of the controversy.

I've found regular HT Iron Man's to be too cheap and plasticky feeling, so I wanted an actual metal version of the most Bronze-Age-like suit.

No need to get into it here, basic 'issues' were articulation, stature and to a lesser extent engineering. It's obviously a very nice looking figure, but not what many of us were expecting. Every now and then I'm still tempted to pick one up, because I prefer the bulk of earlier armours.

The Endgame version looks like the Bronze Age suit.

It does, but typical of modern superhero costume design, it has a lot of 'go-faster' lines added in that I'm not crazy about. Plenty of time (and more appropriate threads) in which to decide.

I do think that this Cap and the Endgame Iron Man would make a terrific pairing for this film; but I'm anxious to see production photos, which are likely a year out at this point. :dunno

Oh I do. I just wondered if that was the consensus as it seems to be. I don't care for Civil War personally.

I like TWS Strike Suit best so far of the movie representations, but wish it had the Concept Cap body underneath.

Best overall Cap for me is still Concept Cap. But then, that's a pretend figure at best.

But I don't currently own a Cap so I'm still deciding what's best to represent.

The Civil War version is really good but it’s not as good as this new one imo. If you are hell bent on having a cloth suit then sure, but this new material better imitates how real clothing folds over the human body.

I’ve had the 5 most recent caps at some point and have 2 currently (IW & Concept) but to me it’s no contest, End Game is better than the Civil War version.

Concept Cap's frame looks great, but with no film appearance and not mapping to a classic comic look (variants notwithstanding) I can't get behind it.

I keep thinking back to how he looked on the battlefield in the Endgame suit, and the more I think about it, the more I think it's the version I want. The one thing I'm not seeing in photos is that the scale-mail seemed to have a more metallic sheen in that final fight, although the promo photos do show some weathering as if it's abraded metal.

This is not a spoiler at all but habit :lol

Spoiler Spoiler:

If that is true it is very disappointing. I will say that almost all my diecast shields had problems on the hinges so maybe that has something to do with it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a new sculpt was developed for the final production photos. I say this because HT has done this before with Ant-Man and Spider-Man. The prototype photos showed a blurred out face due to issues like licensor approval or no sculpt ready etc. Obviously there’s no licensing issue here. Possibly they just don’t have a new sculpt ready yet, so they put in a placeholder.

True but they usually blur the face. In this case, the fact that the hair is so inaccurate tells me it might change

I'm still waiting to see if they will do that for JL Superman, as the hair is just as inaccurate on that sculpt.

Cap was really the only character I liked out of the movie so this will likely be the only Endgame figure I'll buy. Unless they happen to make Okoye.

Wow I didn’t realize the JL Superman hasn’t been released yet. I thought’s been out. The movie came out like a year and a half ago.

Just heard on FB that JC Hong is awaiting approval for a new unmasked Rogers HS design for this version before final production

So you see freaks, HT does listen to our pleas :yess:

That’s true. I noticed the hinges on some of the die-cast shields tend to break, or come unglued. I recall this happening to the GA Cap shield when I had that figure, and also one of my stealth shields.

On the Sideshow website they say "newly painted un-helmeted head sculpt".

But that looks definitely better. First time I see Chris Evans in it.

Yeah, it’s the same sculpt just with a repaint. Like you said, the specs of the figure specifically state “newly painted.” If it was a brand new sculpt, the specs would say “newly developed.”

That's great to hear. It looks like I was right! This makes the decision to order much easier.

Just saw the movie. Definite purchase for me. I have the Battling CW Cap which will be hard to top though. One of the two likely additional accessories should be a pretty enticing inclusion.

Exactly, that one accessory was probably the best scene in the film.

Bummer that it probably contributes to jacking the price up though. That accessory is already plentiful.

But then why show off the old sculpt? Don’t get me wrong, I’d love a new sculpt, but they normally just have a blurred out image of it.
